Dr Jodie Morris is a biomedical scientist and Senior Research Fellow within the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University. Her research efforts are focused on characterizing the complex cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying recovery versus immune-mediated pathologies after surgery, trauma, and infection, as well as the effect of sex and comorbidities on these processes. Over the past two decades, Dr Morris has established a range of clinically relevant models of bacterial infection, and orthopaedic trauma and surgery that have been pivotal in facilitating the evaluation of novel therapies to bolster the healing responses of both males and females, with improved outcomes.
