How long have you been on the board?

I think it's been about ten years. Time flies when you are having fun...

How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

I was invited to become a reviewer after visiting the BJJ offices in London as an ABC Travelling Fellow. I was pleased to do so. I then rotated onto the board as a representative of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association and after that was invited to stay on the board by the editor.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

It’s great to be part of an engaged academic group with a focus on getting the best manuscripts into print. The academic exchange and debate is informative and gives me confidence in the academic process and the epistemology of the rapidly evolving field of Orthopaedics.  I feel current and contemporary by being on the board and also have the privilege of making a small contribution to moving the ball forward regarding the orthopaedic literature.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Just step up and start doing. We are always looking for good reviewers. Your assessment of manuscripts under consideration can and does make a difference.
