How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

As representative of the South African Orthopaedic Association.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

Interacting with leading clinician scientists and researchers. Improving my critical appraisal skills. I have learned a lot from the other board members and editors.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Peer-review more articles. This really enhances your knowledge of scientific rigour, study methodology and analytical statistics. As an added benefit it also improves your own research and writing. This all helps to build recognition and establishing expertise.
