Get to know the editorial board

How long have you been on the board?

I joined about two years ago.

How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

I started off by reviewing the articles that others couldn’t bear to read, and I must have worn down the Editor-in-Chief!

What is the best thing about being on the board?

I’ve really enjoyed seeing the inner workings of the journal and some big orthopaedic brains whirring.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Get in touch! It would be great to see more trainees involved with the journal and shaping its output. The journal is revamping its digital presence and ‘now’ is a big opportunity to be right in the thick of things. A second (unsolicited) piece of advice: it’s natural to be a bit unsure when starting out as a reviewer (and even some time later). Ask one of the Specialty Editors if they will mentor you. What’s the worst that could happen?
