In this edition of Cochrane Corner, two updated reviews have been published in the Cochrane database. The first is a very broad review of rehabilitation strategies for patients with ankle fractures and includes early mobilization, the use of removable splints, and physical therapy techniques for patients treated with and without surgery. The second evaluates interventions for fixing tibial plateau fractures, including fixation techniques and bone graft substitutes.

The April 2014 Knee Roundup³⁶⁰ looks at: mobile compression as good as chemical thromboprophylaxis; patellar injury with MIS knee surgery; tibial plateau fracture results not as good as we thought; back and knee pain; metaphyseal sleeves may be the answer in revision knee replacement; oral tranexamic acid; gentamycin alone in antibiotic spacers; and whether the jury is still out on unloader braces.

The December 2012 Spine Roundup³⁶⁰ looks at: the Japanese neck disability index; adjacent segment degeneration; sacroiliac loads determined by limb length discrepancy; whether epidural steroids improve outcome in lumbar disc herniation; spondylodiscitis in infancy; total pedicle screws; and iliac crest autograft complications.
