Torus (Buckle) fractures of distal radius are common in children and form a major workload of any fracture clinic. They are usually stable and do not displace. Recent evidence has shown that these fractures can be safely treated in a futura splint. In UK, many of the hospitals are still treating these patients with full plaster. Bringing back these patients to fracture clinic for plaster removal means more workload and places more financial burden in the NHS.
