Aims. The aim of this study was to evaluate the suitability of the tapered cone stem in total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with excessive femoral anteversion and after femoral osteotomy. Methods. We included patients who underwent THA using Wagner Cone due to proximal femur anatomical abnormalities between August 2014 and January 2019 at a single institution. We investigated implant survival time using the endpoint of dislocation and revision, and compared the prevalence of prosthetic impingements between the Wagner Cone, a tapered cone stem, and the Taperloc, a tapered wedge stem, through simulation. We also collected Oxford Hip Score (OHS), visual analogue scale (VAS) satisfaction, and VAS pain by postal survey in August 2023 and explored variables associated with those scores. Results. Of the 58 patients (62 hips), two (two hips) presented with dislocation or reoperation, and Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated a five-year survival rate of 96.7% (95% CI 92.4 to 100). Mean stem anteversion was 35.2° (SD 18.2°) for the Taperloc stem and 29.8° (SD 7.9°) for the Wagner Cone stem; mean reduction from Taperloc to Wagner Cone was 5.4° (SD 18.8°). Overall, 55 hips (52 patients) were simulated, and the prevalence of prosthetic impingement was lower for the Wagner Cone (5.5%, 3/55) compared with the Taperloc (20.0%, 11/55) stem, with an odds ratio of 0.20 (p = 0.038). Among the 33 respondents to the postal survey (36 hips), the mean scores were VAS pain 10.9, VAS satisfaction 86.9, and OHS 44.7. A multivariable analysis revealed that reduction of stem anteversion from Taperloc to Wagner Cone was more favourable for VAS pain (p = 0.029) and VAS satisfaction (p = 0.002). Conclusion. The mid-term survival rate for THA using the Wagner Cone stem was high, which may be supported by a reduction in prosthetic impingement. The reduction in excessive stem anteversion by using a tapered cone stem was associated with reduced pain and increased patient satisfaction. Cite this article: Bone Jt Open 2024;5(10):858–867

Aims. Although periacetabular osteotomies are widely used for the treatment of symptomatic dysplastic hips, long-term surgical outcomes and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are still unclear. Accordingly, we assessed hip survival and PROMs at 20 years after transpositional osteotomy of the acetabulum (TOA). Methods. A total of 172 hips in 159 patients who underwent TOA were followed up at a mean of 21.02 years (16.6 to 24.6) postoperatively. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to assess survivorship with an endpoint of total hip arthroplasty (THA). PROMs included the visual analogue scale (VAS) Satisfaction, VAS Pain, Oxford Hip Score (OHS), and Forgotten Joint Score-12 (FJS-12). Thresholds for favourable outcomes for OHS (≥ 42) and FJS-12 (≥ 51) were obtained using the receiver operating characteristic curve with VAS Satisfaction ≥ 50 and VAS Pain < 20 as anchors. Results. THA was performed on 37 hips (21.5%) by the latest follow-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that the hip survival rate at 20 years was 79.7% (95% confidence interval (CI) 73.7 to 86.3). Multivariate analysis showed that preoperative Tönnis grade significantly influenced hip survival. Tönnis grades 0, 1, and 2 were associated with 20-year survival rates of 93.3% (95% CI 84.8 to 100), 86.7% (95% CI 79.8 to 94.3), and 54.8% (95% CI 41.5 to 72.3), respectively. More than 60% of the patients exhibited favourable PROMs. An advanced Tönnis grade at the latest follow-up and a higher BMI were both significantly associated with unfavourable OHS, but not with other PROMs. Conclusion. This study demonstrated the durability of TOA for hips with Tönnis grades 0 to 1 at 20 years. While the presence of advanced osteoarthritis and higher BMI was associated with lower hip functions (OHS), it was not necessarily associated with worse patient satisfaction and joint awareness. Methods. Data were extracted from a single centre prospective database of patients with PD who were treated with a CTAC. Patients were included if they had a follow-up of two years. The Hip Disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (HOOS), modified Oxford Hip Score (mOHS), EurQol EuroQoL five-dimension three-level (EQ-5D-3L) utility, and Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), including visual analogue score (VAS) for pain, were gathered at baseline, and at one- and two-year follow-up. Reasons for revision, and radiological and clinical complications were registered. Trends over time are described and tested for significance and clinical relevance. Results. A total of 18 females with 22 CTACs who had a mean age of 73.5 years (SD 7.7) were included. A significant improvement was found in HOOS (p < 0.0001), mOHS (p < 0.0001), EQ-5D-3L utility (p = 0.003), EQ-5D-3L NRS (p = 0.013), VAS pain rest (p = 0.008), and VAS pain activity (p < 0.0001) between baseline and final follow-up. Minimal clinically important improvement in mOHS and the HOOS Physical Function Short Form (HOOS-PS) was observed in 16 patients (73%) and 14 patients (64%), respectively. Definite healing of the PD was observed in 19 hips (86%). Complications included six cases with broken screws (27%), four cases (18%) with bony fractures, and one case (4.5%) with sciatic nerve paresthesia. One patient with concurrent bilateral PD had revision surgery due to recurrent dislocations. No revision surgery was performed for screw failure or implant breakage. Conclusion. CTAC in patients with THA acetabular loosening and PD can result in stable constructs and significant improvement in functioning and health-related quality of life at two years' follow-up. Pelvic discontinuity (PD) is a detrimental complication following total hip arthroplasty (THA). Although periacetabular osteotomies are widely used for the treatment of symptomatic acetabular dysplasia, the surgical outcomes after long term follow-up are still limited. Thus, we assessed hip survival and patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) at 20 years after the transposition osteotomy of acetabulum (TOA). Among 260 hips in 238 patients treated with TOA, 172 hips in 160 patients were evaluated at average 20.8 years, excluding patients who died or lost to follow-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to assess survivorship with an end-point of THA. PROMs were evaluated using the VAS satisfaction, VAS pain, Oxford hip score (OHS), and Forgotten joint score (FJS). The thresholds of favorable outcomes of FJS and OHS were obtained using the receiver-operating characteristic curve with VAS satisfaction ≥ 50 and VAS pain < 20 as anchors. Thirty-three hips (19.2%) underwent THA at average 13.3 years after TOA. Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed hip survival rate at 20 years was 79.7%. Multivariate analysis showed the preoperative Tönnis grade significantly influenced hip survival. Survival rates with Tönnis grade 0, grade 1, and grade 2 were 93.3%, 86.7%, and 54.8% at 20 years, respectively. More than 60% of the patients showed favorable PROMs (VAS satisfaction ≥ 50, VAS pain < 20, OHS ≥ 42, FJS ≥ 51). Advanced Tönnis grade at the latest follow-up and higher BMI were significantly associated with unfavorable OHS, but not with other PROMs. This study demonstrated the durability of TOA for hips with Tönnis grade 0–1 and favorable satisfaction in majority of the patients at 20 years after surgery. Current presence of advanced osteoarthritis is associated with the lower hip function (OHS), but not necessarily associated with subjective pain and satisfaction. Higher BMI also showed a negative impact on postoperative function

The objective of this study was to assess the clinical and radiological results of patients who were revised using a new generation custom-made triflange acetabular component (CTAC) for component loosening and large acetabular defect (Paprosky 3A and 3B) after previous total hip arthroplasty (THA). New generation CTACs involve the use of patient-specific drill guides and incorporate three-dimensional printed bone models, enhancing precision during surgical implantation. Data were extracted from a single centre prospective database of patients with large acetabular defects who were treated with a new generation CTAC. Patients were included if they had a minimum follow-up of five years. The modified Oxford Hip Score (mOHS), EurQol EuroQoL five-dimension three-level (EQ-5D-3L) utility, and Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), including visual analogue score (VAS) for pain, were gathered at baseline, and at two- and five-year follow-up. Reasons for revision, and radiological and clinical complications were registered. Trends over time are described and tested for significance (p<0.05). A total of 49 (70%) of 70 patients with a mean age of 73.5 years (SD 7.7) had a complete follow-up of 5 years. A significant improvement was found in HOOS, mOHS, EQ-5D-3L utility and NRS, VAS pain rest and activity between baseline and final follow-up. Complications included 8 cases with loosening screws, 4 with bony fractures, 4 periprosthetic infections and 2 cases with dislocation. One patient with bilateral pelvic discontinuity had revision surgery due to recurrent dislocations. No revision surgery was performed for screw failure or implant breakage. New generation CTAC in patients with THA acetabular loosening and massive acetabular bone loss (Paprosky 3A and 3B) can result in stable constructs and significant improvement in functioning and health-related quality of life at five years’ follow-up

We designed a study to evaluate whether (1) there were differences in PROMs between different reasons for revision THA at baseline, (2) there was a different interaction effect for revision THA for all PROMs, and (3) complication and re-revision rates differ between reason for revision THA. Prospective cohort of 647 patients undergoing rTHA, with a minimum of 2 years FU. The reason for revision were classified as infection, aseptic loosening, dislocation, structural failure and painful THA with uncommon causes. PROMs (EQ-5D score, Oxford hip score (OHS), VAS pain, complication and failure rates were compared between different groups. Patients with different reason for revision had improvement of PROMs’ over time. Preoperatively, patients revised due to infection and aseptic loosening had poorer OHS and EQ-5D than patients with other reason for revision. Pain scores at baseline were highest in patients revised due to dislocation. Infection and aseptic loosening groups also showed a significant interaction effect over time in both OHS and EQ-5D. No PROMs significant differences between groups were observed 2 years postoperatively. Overall complications, and re-revision rates were 35.4 and 9.7% respectively. The reason for revision THA did not associate with clinical outcomes. Good outcomes were reached regardless of the reason for revision, as patients with the poorest pre-operative scores had the best improvement in PROMs over time. Complication and re-operation rates were relatively high, in line with previous reports, but did not differ between different reasons for revision THA

Introduction. Prosthetic designs that use porous metals possess an extremely high surface area and through capillary effect may potentially ‘absorb’ and later elute analgesic solution, serving as a surgical site drug depot. This study aimed to determine if a highly porous acetabular component submerged in an aqueous-based analgesic solution prior to implantation reduced postoperative pain scores and opioid consumption in the early post-operative period. Methods. Using our IRB approved database, 200 consecutive opioid naïve primary THA patients operated on by a single surgeon at two institutions using the same acetabular component were identified. 100 patients had a standard volume/concentration of an analgesic cocktail soft-tissue injection at closure (control). 100 patients had their acetabular components submerged into the same cocktail prior to implantation (treatment) and the balance of the volume injected. Postoperative protocols were otherwise identical. Groups were compared for visual analog pain scores (VAS), opioid consumption, 1-year radiographic findings and surgical revision rates. Results. VAS were lower in the treatment group at 6hrs (2.35±1.8 v. 3.31±2.3, p<0.01), 12hrs (2.00±1.6 v. 3.61±2.3, p<0.01), 18hrs (2.36±1.7 v. 3.44±1.9, p<0.01), and 24 hrs (2.20±1.6 v. 3.82±1.9, p<0.01). Opioid consumption was lower in the treatment group at all time point in the first 24 hours and significantly lower in the first 6 hours (7.18±9.42 MME v. 10.76±11.37 MME, p<0.05) and between 12 and 24 hours postoperatively (10.43±15.94 MME v. 17.08±22.75 MME, p<0.05). The total MME administered to the treatment group was significantly lower than the control group (48.3±59.7 MME vs. 76.1±78.6 MME, respectively; p<0.01). At one-year, there was no radiographic evidence of periacetabular lucencies and no revisions for loosening. Conclusion. The use of a highly porous component commonly used in THA as a potential analgesic drug depot in combination with soft-tissue injections may reduce postoperative pain scores and opioid consumption compared to soft-tissue injections alone

Introduction. Without intervention 80% of hips with osteonecrosis (ON) will progress. Core decompression has shown favorable results (60–80% survivorship) in early stage ON, and recently, bone marrow aspirate concentration (BMAC) injection into the decompressed femoral head has been proposed to stimulate healing of the necrotic lesion and improve outcomes and survivorship. Methods. We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and radiographic outcomes of 42 hips in 26 patients who underwent core decompression with BMAC for ON with a minimum of 1 year follow up. We evaluated pre-op visual analog pain scores (VAS), Steinberg class based on radiographs, as well as Kerboul angle as measured on MRI. Clinical outcomes were reported as change in VAS at final follow up, advancement in Steinberg classification based on radiographs at final follow up, or decision to proceed with THA. Results. At final follow up, VAS scores had improved from 7 to 2.6 (P<0.05). A total of 33 of 42 hips (78.5%) had stable radiographs without collapse or progression to a higher Steinberg class, while a total of 9 of 42 hips (21.4%) went on to THA. Of the patients that went on to THA, all had a pre-operative Steinberg classification of 2C or higher, and the pre-op Kerboul angle in this cohort was 243, compared to 171 in the group that did not go on to THA (p<0.05). In patients with pre-op Steinberg class 2B or less, there was no advancement in radiographic grade, whereas 61% of patients with pre-op Steinberg grade 2C or higher progressed on to a more advanced stage. Conclusion. Core decompression with BMAC significantly improves clinical symptoms and helps prevent the advancement of ON when performed on patients in whom ON is classified as Steinberg class 2B or less, or in whom the Kerboul angle is 180 or less. Background. The acetabular labrum provides sealing function and a degree of hip joint stability. Previous early(16 month) and mid-term(mean 3.5 years) follow-up of this cohort reported better patient related outcome measures in the refixation group. Methods. We reported patients who underwent labral debridement/focal labral excision during a period before the development of labral repair techniques. Patients with labral tears thought to be repairable with our current arthroscopic technique were compared with patients who underwent labral refixation. In 46 hips, the labrum was focally excised/debrided (group 1); in 54 hips, the labrum was refixed (group 2). Outcomes were measured with modified-Harris-Hip-Score (mHHS), Short Form-12 (SF-12), and a visual-analog-scale(VAS) for pain preoperatively and postoperatively. Results. Mean age was 33 years in group 1 and 28 years in group 2 with mean follow-up of 7 years (range, 2–13.6 years). At mean follow-up, subjective outcomes were significantly improved (P<.01) for both groups compared with preoperative scores. The mHHS (P=.005), SF-12 (P=.025), and VAS pain scores (P<.001) were all significantly better for refixation group compared with debridement group. Although most recent outcomes for both groups fell at mean 7 years' follow-up in comparison to 16 month and 3.5 year follow-up, the disparity between groups was greater in favor of labral refixation. Good-to-excellent results were 47.7% in debridement and 86.3% in refixation (p<.001), and failure rates were 29.6% (debridement) and 13.7% (refixation group) (p =.059). There were 4 revisions in the debridement group and 2 revisions in the refixation group. Conclusion. Longer term follow-up comparing focal labral debridement/excision to refixation revealed a decrease in patient related outcome scoring and good/excellent results in both groups. Ultimately, there was a greater drop in outcome measures and good/excellent results in the debridement group and better maintenance of results in the refixation group at mean 7 years follow-up. Introduction. Total hip arthroplasty (THA) candidates have received high doses of opioids within the perioperative period for the management of surgical pain. Healthcare systems have responded by improving opioid administration documentation and are now implementing opioid-sparing protocols (OSP) into THA integrated care pathways (ICP). Here we evaluate the effectiveness of a novel OSP in primary THA at out institution. Methods. Between January 2019 to April 2019, all patients undergoing primary THA were placed under a novel OSP (Table 1). Patient demographics, inpatient/surgical factors, and inpatient opiate administration events were collected. A historical 2:1 cohort was subsequently derived from patients undergoing THA between January 2018 to August 2018. Opiate administration events collected from our EDW were converted into Morphine Milligram Equivalences (MMEs) and transformed into average MME's per patient per 24-hour interval. Nursing documented visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores were also queried and averaged per patient per 12-hour interval. To assess immediate postoperative functional status, the validated Activity Measure for Post-Acute Care (AM-PAC) Short Forms tool was utilized. Results. 652 primary THAs had received our institution's OSP, and 1357 patients were utilized as our historical control. Age, gender, BMI, ASA physical status score, race, smoking status, marital status, surgical time, length of stay and discharge disposition were all similar between the two groups (Table 2). Compared to historical controls, OSP patients demonstrated significantly lower 24-hour interval opiate consumption at 0–24, 24–48 and 48–72 hours. Though VAS pain score variations reached statistical significance at various intervals, differences were not clinically relevant (Table 4). Lastly, OSP patients demonstrated significantly higher AM-PAC scores across all 6 functional domains (Table 5) and raw total scores within 24-hours of surgery completion. Discussion. Our OSP reduced opiate consumption by 26.50% while maintaining a comparable level of self-reported patient pain. Aims

The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between reason for revision total hip arthroplasty (rTHA) and outcomes in terms of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs).

Methods

We reviewed a prospective cohort of 647 patients undergoing full or partial rTHA at a single high-volume centre with a minimum of two years’ follow-up. The reasons for revision were classified as: infection; aseptic loosening; dislocation; structural failure; and painful THA for other reasons. PROMs (modified Oxford Hip Score (mOHS), EuroQol five-dimension three-level health questionnaire (EQ-5D-3L) score, and visual analogue scales for pain during rest and activity), complication rates, and failure rates were compared among the groups.

Aims

Obesity is associated with an increased risk of hip osteoarthritis, resulting in an increased number of total hip arthroplasties (THAs) performed annually. This study examines the peri- and postoperative outcomes of morbidly obese (MO) patients (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2) compared to healthy weight (HW) patients (BMI 18.5 to < 25 kg/m2) who underwent a THA using the anterior-based muscle-sparing (ABMS) approach.

Methods

This retrospective cohort study observes peri- and postoperative outcomes of MO and HW patients who underwent a primary, unilateral THA with the ABMS approach. Data from surgeries performed by three surgeons at a single institution was collected from January 2013 to August 2020 and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Stata 17.0.

Aims

The aims of this study were to validate the Forgotten Joint Score-12 (FJS-12) in the postoperative evaluation of periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), identify factors associated with joint awareness after PAO, and determine the FJS-12 threshold for patient-acceptable symptom state (PASS).

Methods

Data from 686 patients (882 hips) with hip dysplasia who underwent transposition osteotomy of the acetabulum, a type of PAO, between 1998 and 2019 were reviewed. After screening the study included 442 patients (582 hips; response rate, 78%). Patients who completed a study questionnaire consisting of the visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain and satisfaction, FJS-12, and Hip disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (HOOS) were included. The ceiling effects, internal consistency, convergent validity, and PASS thresholds of FJS-12 were investigated.

Introduction. Hip abductor tendon tears have been referred to as “rotator cuff tears of the hip,” and are a recognized etiology for persistent, often progressive, lateral hip pain, weakness, and limp. Multiple repair techniques and salvage procedures for abductor tendon tears have been reported in the literature; however, re-tear remains a frequent complication following surgical repair. This study compares the short-term outcomes of open abductor tendon repairs with decortication and suture fixation (DSF) compared to a modified technique repair into a bone trough (BT), to determine best surgical results for large abductor tendon avulsions. Additionally, surgical treatment of small tears versus large tears was examined. Methods. The outcomes of 37 consecutive hip abductor tendon repairs treated between January 2009 and December 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. Large tears were defined as detachment of 33–100% of the gluteus medius insertion. There were 15 DSF and 10 BT cases. Postoperative pain, ability to perform single leg stance, hip abduction, and Trendelenburg lurch, were examined. Small tears (12 cases) were defined as having no gluteus medius avulsion from the trochanteric insertion and were comprised of longitudinal tears (repaired side-by-side) and isolated gluteus minimus tears (repaired by tenodesis to the overlying gluteus medius). Standard statistical analyses were utilized. Type I error for all analyses was set at α=0.05. Results. When comparing large tear repair outcomes, repairs into a BT had superior outcomes to repairs with DSF: 0 (BT) versus 6 (DSF, 40%) failure rate (p<0.05), and greater reductions in pain at one-year post surgery (Δ VAS: BT, −5.70±0.97 | DSF: −2.73±0.69; p<0.01), ability to perform a single leg stance and hip abduction (90% and 100% vs 47% and 73%) (p<0.05). Clinical strength ratings were higher for repairs into a BT, but this did not reach statistical significance. When comparing large to small tear repair outcomes, small tears were found to have lower VAS pain scores and higher clinical strength ratings during both the pre-op and 1-year post-op time points (p<0.05). A higher percentage of those with small tears were able to perform a single leg stance and hip abduction (100%) compared to those with large tears (64% and 78% respectively) (p<0.05). A significantly higher frequency of residual lurch was also observed for those with large tears; 56% compared to small tears at 0%. Conclusions. Utilizing a BT repair significantly improved surgical results for large abductor tendon avulsions. Level of evidence: Therapeutic level IV case series

Aims

The Exeter short stem was designed for patients with Dorr type A femora and short-term results are promising. The aim of this study was to evaluate the minimum five-year stem migration pattern of Exeter short stems in comparison with Exeter standard stems.

Methods

In this case-control study, 25 patients (22 female) at mean age of 78 years (70 to 89) received cemented Exeter short stem (case group). Cases were selected based on Dorr type A femora and matched first by Dorr type A and then age to a control cohort of 21 patients (11 female) at mean age of 74 years (70 to 89) who received with cemented Exeter standard stems (control group). Preoperatively, all patients had primary hip osteoarthritis and no osteoporosis as confirmed by dual X-ray absorptiometry scanning. Patients were followed with radiostereometry for evaluation of stem migration (primary endpoint), evaluation of cement quality, and Oxford Hip Score. Measurements were taken preoperatively, and at three, 12, and 24 months and a minimum five-year follow-up.

Aims

Hip arthroscopy has gained prominence as a primary surgical intervention for symptomatic femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). This study aimed to identify radiological features, and their combinations, that predict the outcome of hip arthroscopy for FAI.

Methods

A prognostic cross-sectional cohort study was conducted involving patients from a single centre who underwent hip arthroscopy between January 2013 and April 2021. Radiological metrics measured on conventional radiographs and magnetic resonance arthrography were systematically assessed. The study analyzed the relationship between these metrics and complication rates, revision rates, and patient-reported outcomes.

Aims

Although the Fitmore Hip Stem has been on the market for almost 15 years, it is still not well documented in randomized controlled trials. This study compares the Fitmore stem with the CementLeSs (CLS) in several different clinical and radiological aspects. The hypothesis is that there will be no difference in outcome between stems.

Methods

In total, 44 patients with bilateral hip osteoarthritis were recruited from the outpatient clinic at a single tertiary orthopaedic centre. The patients were operated with bilateral one-stage total hip arthroplasty. The most painful hip was randomized to either Fitmore or CLS femoral component; the second hip was operated with the femoral component not used on the first side. Patients were evaluated at three and six months and at one, two, and five years postoperatively with patient-reported outcome measures, radiostereometric analysis, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, and conventional radiography. A total of 39 patients attended the follow-up visit at two years (primary outcome) and 35 patients at five years. The primary outcome was which hip the patient considered to have the best function at two years.

Aims

The aim of this study was to determine whether total hip arthroplasty (THA) for chronic hip pain due to unilateral primary osteoarthritis (OA) has a beneficial effect on cognitive performance.

Methods

A prospective cohort study was conducted with 101 patients with end-stage hip OA scheduled for THA (mean age 67.4 years (SD 9.5), 51.5% female (n = 52)). Patients were assessed at baseline as well as after three and months. Primary outcome was cognitive performance measured by d2 Test of Attention at six months, Trail Making Test (TMT), FAS-test, Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test (RBMT; story recall subtest), and Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCF). The improvement of cognitive performance was analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance.


Aims

Vitamin E-infused highly crosslinked polyethylene (VEPE) has been introduced into total hip arthroplasty (THA) with the aim of further improving the wear characteristics of moderately and highly crosslinked polyethylenes (ModXLPE and HXLPE). There are few studies analyzing the outcomes of vitamin E-infused components in cemented arthroplasty, though early acetabular component migration has been reported. The aim of this study was to measure five-year polyethylene wear and acetabular component stability of a cemented VEPE acetabular component compared with a ModXLPE cemented acetabular component.

Methods

In a prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT), we assessed polyethylene wear and acetabular component stability (primary outcome) with radiostereometric analysis (RSA) in 68 patients with reverse hybrid THA at five years follow-up. Patients were randomized to either a VEPE or a ModXLPE cemented acetabular component.
