Abstract. Introduction. Total knee replacement (TKR) in patients with skeletal dysplasia is technically challenging surgery due to deformity, joint contracture, and associated co-morbidities. The aim of this study is to follow up patients with skeletal dysplasia following a TKR. Methodology. We retrospectively reviewed 22 patients with skeletal dysplasia who underwent 31 TKRs at our institution between 2006 and 2022. Clinical notes, operative records and radiographic data were reviewed. Results. Achondroplasia was the most common skeletal dysplasia (8), followed by Chondrodysplasia punctata (7) and Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia (5). There were fourteen men and eight women with mean age of 51 years (28 to 73). The average height of patients was 1.4 metres (1.16–1.75) and the mean weight was 64.8 Kg (34.3–100). The mean follow up duration was 68.32 months (1–161). Three patients died during follow up. Custom implants were required in twelve patients (38.71%). Custom jigs were utilised in six patients and two patients underwent robotic assisted surgery. Hinged TKR was used in seventeen patients (54.84%), posterior stabilised TKR in nine patients (29.03%), and cruciate retaining TKR in five patients (16.13%). One patient underwent a patella resurfacing for persistent anterior knee pain and another had an intra-operative medial tibial plateau fracture which was managed with fixation. No revisions occurred during the follow up period. Conclusion. Despite the technical challenges and complexity of TKR within this unique patient group, we demonstrate good implant survivorship during the study period. Cross sectional imaging is recommended preoperatively for precise planning and templating

Aims. Different methods of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction have been described for skeletally immature patients before closure of the growth plates. However, the outcome and complications following this treatment remain unclear. The aim of this systematic review was to analyse the outcome and complications of different techniques which may be used for reconstruction of the ACL in these patients. Materials and Methods. We performed a systematic review of the literature according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. This involved a comprehensive search of PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, Embase and Google Scholar databases using the following combinations of keywords, “knee”, “anterior cruciate ligament”, “reconstruction”, “injury”, “children”, “adolescent”, “skeletally immature”, “open physis” and “surgery”. Results. A total of 53 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included for analysis. The overall rate of disturbance of growth after ACL reconstruction was 2.6%, with no statistical difference between transphyseal and physeal-sparing techniques. Physeal-sparing techniques had a lower rate of post-operative complications compared with transphyseal techniques (p = 0.0045). Outcomes assessed were Lysholm score, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, the IKDC grade, the Tegner score and the KT-1000. Both techniques had similar clinical outcomes. Conclusions. This review reveals low rates of disturbance of growth after ACL reconstruction in skeletally immature patients. Although limited, the available evidence did not support any particular surgical technique when considering disturbance of growth or clinical outcome. Further randomised controlled trials are needed to investigate the efficacy of differing surgical techniques on outcomes in skeletally immature patients. Patients with skeletal dysplasia are prone to developing advanced osteoarthritis of the knee requiring total knee replacement (TKR) at a younger age than the general population. TKR in this unique group of patients is a technically demanding procedure owing to the deformity, flexion contracture, generalised hypotonia and ligamentous laxity. We retrospectively reviewed the outcome of 11 TKRs performed in eight patients with skeletal dysplasia at our institution using the Stanmore Modular Individualised Lower Extremity System (SMILES) custom-made rotating-hinge TKR. There were three men and five women with mean age of 57 years (41 to 79). Patients were followed clinically and radiologically for a mean of seven years (3 to 11.5). The mean Knee Society clinical and function scores improved from 24 (14 to 36) and 20 (5 to 40) pre-operatively, respectively, to 68 (28 to 80) and 50 (22 to 74), respectively, at final follow-up. Four complications were recorded, including a patellar fracture following a fall, a tibial peri-prosthetic fracture, persistent anterior knee pain, and aseptic loosening of a femoral component requiring revision. Our results demonstrate that custom primary rotating-hinge TKR in patients with skeletal dysplasia is effective at relieving pain, with a satisfactory range of movement and improved function. It compensates for bony deformity and ligament deficiency and reduces the likelihood of corrective osteotomy. Patellofemoral joint complications are frequent and functional outcome is worse than with primary TKR in the general population

Abstract. Introduction. The paediatric population present unique challenges to the knee surgeon, particularly when treating recurrent patellofemoral instability(PFI), the management of which is poorly standardised. Through the EPPIC BASK National Trainee Collaborative, we aimed to identify which procedures (and in which combination) are being used to surgically manage recurrent PFI in skeletally immature patients across the UK. Methods. A retrospective national service evaluation via a trainee collaborative analysing local trust data between 1st January 2014 and 31st December 2019. Data from institutions registered for EPPIC was compiled and compared to the national guidelines for adults. Results. A total of 333 patients were classified as skeletally immature(radiologically open physes) across 28 hospitals. Mean age was 14.1 years(+/- 4.5) with 64.9% being female. Mean number of procedures performed was 11.9 (+/-16.4). Isolated medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLR) was the most common procedure, performed in 65.8% of patients. Combined MPFLR and TTO was undertaken in 13.2% of patients. Proximal realignment surgery was performed in 5.1% of patients. Lateral releases were performed in 18.3% of patients with 8.4% performed in isolation. Conclusion. This study highlights the national variation in surgical treatment of PFI in skeletally immature patients. The guidance for adults cannot be applied universally to the skeletally immature, and it not always acceptable to delay treatment until physes close. This lack of standardisation within the UK in the management of recurrent PFI in skeletally immature patients highlights the need for a national consensus in appropriate surgical management of this patient population

Abstract. Introduction. There is currently very little evidence which can be used to guide surgeons treating skeletally immature patients with suspected meniscal injury. The aim of our modified Delphi study was to develop comprehensive recommendations for the management of isolated meniscal tears in skeletally immature children. Methodology. An international, two round, modified Delphi consensus was completed. Included ‘experts’ were identified as having an established adult and/or paediatric knee practice and either: 1) Faculty at the international kid's knee meeting, 2) Active member of the complex national paediatric MDT group, or 3) faculty on recognised national course aimed at teaching knee surgeons regarding the management of meniscal lesions. A threshold of 70% was used to identify consensus. Results. A total of 43 experts (Round 1) and 41 experts (Round 2) took part in the Delphi study. Surgeons from the UK, Europe, USA and South America took part. 34 statements were identified exploring 4 main domains – clinical diagnosis, investigation, management and specialist tears. Following round 1 consensus was reached on 17 (50%) statements, subsequently after completion of round 2 consensus was reached on 28 (82%) statements, leaving 6 (18%) with no consensus. Conclusions. This is the first modified delphi consensus which provides evidence for surgeons treating skeletally immature children with isolated meniscal tears. Further studies are required to provide evidence for the areas where no consensus was reached

Aims. Obtaining solid implant fixation is crucial in revision total knee arthroplasty (rTKA) to avoid aseptic loosening, a major reason for re-revision. This study aims to validate a novel grading system that quantifies implant fixation across three anatomical zones (epiphysis, metaphysis, diaphysis). Methods. Based on pre-, intra-, and postoperative assessments, the novel grading system allocates a quantitative score (0, 0.5, or 1 point) for the quality of fixation achieved in each anatomical zone. The criteria used by the algorithm to assign the score include the bone quality, the size of the bone defect, and the type of fixation used. A consecutive cohort of 245 patients undergoing rTKA from 2012 to 2018 were evaluated using the current novel scoring system and followed prospectively. In addition, 100 first-time revision cases were assessed radiologically from the original cohort and graded by three observers to evaluate the intra- and inter-rater reliability of the novel radiological grading system. Results. At a mean follow-up of 90 months (64 to 130), only two out of 245 cases failed due to aseptic loosening. Intraoperative grading yielded mean scores of 1.87 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.82 to 1.92) for the femur and 1.96 (95% CI 1.92 to 2.0) for the tibia. Only 3.7% of femoral and 1.7% of tibial reconstructions fell below the 1.5-point threshold, which included the two cases of aseptic loosening. Interobserver reliability for postoperative radiological grading was 0.97 for the femur and 0.85 for the tibia. Conclusion. A minimum score of 1.5 points for each skeletal segment appears to be a reasonable cut-off to define sufficient fixation in rTKA. There were no revisions for aseptic loosening at mid-term follow-up when this fixation threshold was achieved or exceeded. Abstract. The radiographic or bony landmark techniques are the two most common methods to determine Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) femoral tunnel placement. Their intra/inter-observer reliability is widely debated. The palpation technique relies on identifying the medial epicondyle (ME) and adductor Tubercle (AT). The central longitudinal artery and associated vessels (CLV) are consistently seen in the surgical dissection during MPFL reconstruction. The aim of this study was to investigate the anatomic relationship of CLV to ME-AT and thereby use CLV as an important vascular landmark during MPFL reconstruction. A retrospective review of MRI scans in skeletally mature patients presenting to a tertiary referral knee clinic was undertaken. Group-N consisted of any presentation without patellofemoral instability or malalignment (PFI). Group-P with PFI. MRI's were reviewed and measured by two Consultant Radiologists for the CLV-ME-AT anatomy and relationship. Following exclusions 50 patients were identified in each group. The CLV passed anterior to the AT and ME in all patients. ME morphology did not differ greatly between the groups except in the tubercle height, where there was a statically but not clinically significant difference (larger in the non-PFI group, 2.95mm vs 2.52mm, p=0.002). The CLV to ME Tip distance was consistent between the groups (Group PFI group 3.8mm & ‘normal’ non-PFI Group 3.9mm). The CLV-ME-AT relationship remained consistent despite patients presenting pathology. The CLV consistently courses anterior to ME and AT. The CLV could be used as a vascular landmark assisting femoral tunnel placement during MPFL reconstruction

Abstract. Introduction. We present a case series of patients that underwent knee ligament reconstruction with graft reinforcement using FibreTape (Arthrex), a 2mm wide non-biodegradable polyethylene tape. Outcomes and safety of this novel technique are reported. Methods. Data were collected from a prospectively maintained database from 03/2011 to 11/2019. All skeletally mature patients that underwent reinforced knee ligament reconstruction surgery at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital were included. The cohort was interrogated for outcomes including failure, complications, and subjective patient reported outcomes at 6,12 and 24 months postoperatively. Results. 438 patients were eligible. The mean age was 33.4 years and 68% of them were males. This included 171 ACL reconstructions, 96 ACL with anterolatreal ligament reconstructions, 59 bicruciate reconstructions, 30 ACL with posterolateral corner, 49 posterior cruciate ligament with one other ligament and 33 other ligament reconstruction. Allograft was used for 125 patients. 338 cases related to primary reconstruction. The overall complication rate was 5.3%, with a 2.1% re-rupture rate. There were 9 patients with a re-rupture and 5 of them had undergone multiligament reconstruction. We found a statistically significant improvement in all subjective scoring indices post-operatively up to 2 years. There were no complications directly related to the use of ligament reinforcement. Conclusion. Graft reinforcement is a safe option in the management of knee ligament injuries. Encouraging results were observed in patient reported outcomes. Reinforcement is technically reproducible and may represent an answer for graft failure rates, especially in multiligament reconstructions. Further application and evaluation is necessary to confirm its benefit

Aim. Nail patella syndrome (NPS) is a skeletal dysplasia with patellofemoral dysfunction as a key symptom. We present the first in-depth radiological evaluation of the knee in a large series of NPS patients and describe the typical malformations. Patients and Methods. Conventional radiological examination of 95 skeletally mature patients with NPS was performed. Patellar morphology was classified according to the Wiberg classification as modified by Baumgartl and Ficat criteria, and trochlear shape was classified according to the Dejour classification. Results. Patellar aplasia was present in 4/90 (4%), and patellar hypoplasia in 77/90 (86%) of patients. The prevailing patellar shapes were type III, type IV and Hunter’s cap. No patellar shape genotype-phenotype association could be found. The malformations of the distal femur comprised shortening of the lateral femoral condyle in 46 out of 84 patients (55%), with a prominent anterior surface of the lateral femoral condyle in 47 out of 84 patients (56%) and a flat anterior surface of the medial femoral condyle in 78 out of 85 patients (92%). The trochlea was type A1 according to the Dejour classification in 79 out of 85 patients (93%). . Conclusion. An easily recognisable characteristic quartet of malformations consisting of patellar aplasiaor hypoplasia and the malformations of the distal femur was found in 22 out of 81 patients (27%), with the majority displaying at least three malformations. Take home message: The distinct malformations of the knee in nail patella syndrome are easily recognisable on conventional radiographs and lead to the correct interpretation of the aberrant morphology which is essential in the treatment of these patellofemoral disorders. Aims

As has been shown in larger animal models, knee immobilization can lead to arthrofibrotic phenotypes. Our study included 168 C57BL/6J female mice, with 24 serving as controls, and 144 undergoing a knee procedure to induce a contracture without osteoarthritis (OA).

Methods

Experimental knees were immobilized for either four weeks (72 mice) or eight weeks (72 mice), followed by a remobilization period of zero weeks (24 mice), two weeks (24 mice), or four weeks (24 mice) after suture removal. Half of the experimental knees also received an intra-articular injury. Biomechanical data were collected to measure passive extension angle (PEA). Histological data measuring area and thickness of posterior and anterior knee capsules were collected from knee sections.

Aims

Multiligament knee injuries (MLKI) are devastating injuries that can result in significant morbidity and time away from sport. There remains considerable variation in strategies employed for investigation, indications for operative intervention, outcome reporting, and rehabilitation following these injuries. At present no study has yet provided a comprehensive overview evaluating the extent, range, and overall summary of the published literature pertaining to MLKI. Our aim is to perform a methodologically rigorous scoping review, mapping the literature evaluating the diagnosis and management of MLKI.

Methods

This scoping review will address three aims: firstly, to map the current extent and nature of evidence for diagnosis and management of MLKI; secondly, to summarize and disseminate existing research findings to practitioners; and thirdly, to highlight gaps in current literature. A three-step search strategy as described by accepted methodology will be employed to identify peer-reviewed literature including reviews, technical notes, opinion pieces, and original research. An initial limited search will be performed to determine suitable search terms, followed by an expanded search of four electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Web of Science). Two reviewers will independently screen identified studies for final inclusion.


Aims

Classifying trochlear dysplasia (TD) is useful to determine the treatment options for patients suffering from patellofemoral instability (PFI). There is no consensus on which classification system is more reliable and reproducible for the purpose of guiding clinicians’ management of PFI. There are also concerns about the validity of the Dejour Classification (DJC), which is the most widely used classification for TD, having only a fair reliability score. The Oswestry-Bristol Classification (OBC) is a recently proposed system of classification of TD, and the authors report a fair-to-good interobserver agreement and good-to-excellent intraobserver agreement in the assessment of TD. The aim of this study was to compare the reliability and reproducibility of these two classifications.

Methods

In all, six assessors (four consultants and two registrars) independently evaluated 100 axial MRIs of the patellofemoral joint (PFJ) for TD and classified them according to OBC and DJC. These assessments were again repeated by all raters after four weeks. The inter- and intraobserver reliability scores were calculated using Cohen’s kappa and Cronbach’s α.

Aims

Outcomes of current operative treatments for arthrofibrosis after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are not consistently positive or predictable. Pharmacological in vivo studies have focused mostly on prevention of arthrofibrosis. This study used a rabbit model to evaluate intra-articular (IA) effects of celecoxib in treating contracted knees alone, or in combination with capsular release.

Methods

A total of 24 rabbits underwent contracture-forming surgery with knee immobilization followed by remobilization surgery at eight weeks. At remobilization, one cohort underwent capsular release (n = 12), while the other cohort did not (n = 12). Both groups were divided into two subcohorts (n = 6 each) – one receiving IA injections of celecoxib, and the other receiving injections of vehicle solution (injections every day for two weeks after remobilization). Passive extension angle (PEA) was assessed in live rabbits at 10, 16, and 24 weeks, and disarticulated limbs were analyzed for capsular stiffness at 24 weeks.

We scanned 25 left knees in healthy human subjects using MRI. Multiplanar reconstruction software was used to take measurements of the inferior and posterior facets of the femoral condyles and the trochlea. A ‘basic circle’ can be defined which, in the sagittal plane, fits the posterior and inferior facets of the lateral condyle, the posterior facet of the medial condyle and the floor of the groove of the trochlea. It also approximately fits both condyles in the coronal plane (inferior facets) and the axial plane (posterior facets). The circle fitting the inferior facet of the medial condyle in the sagittal plane was consistently 35% larger than the other circles and was termed the ‘medial inferior circle’. There were strong correlations between the radii of the circles, the relative positions of the centres of the condyles, the width of the condyles, the total knee width and skeletal measurements including height. There was poor correlation between the radii of the circles and the position of the trochlea relative to the condyles. In summary, the condyles are approximately spherical except for the inferior facet medially, which has a larger radius in the sagittal plane. The size and position of the condyles are consistent and change with the size of the person. However, the position of the trochlea is variable even though its radius is similar to that of the condyles. This information has implications for understanding anterior knee pain and for the design of knee replacements. Cite this article: Bone Joint J 2014;96-B:1623–30

Introduction. Poor osseointegration of cementless implants is the leading clinical cause of implant loosening, subsidence, and replacement failure, which require costly and technically challenging revision surgery. The mechanism of osseointegration requires further elucidation. We have recently developed a novel titanium implant for the mouse tibia that maintains in vivo knee joint function and allows us to study osseointegration in an intra-articular, load-bearing environment. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the most important growth factors for regulation of vascular development and angiogenesis. It also plays critical roles in skeletal development and bone repair and regeneration. A specialized subset of vascular endothelium, CD31. hi. EMCN. hi. cells displaying high cell surface expression of CD31 and Endomucin, has been reported to promote osteoblast maturation and may be responsible for bone formation during development and fracture healing. Because of their potential role in osseointegration, the aim of this study was to use our mouse implant model to investigate the role of VEGF and CD31. hi. EMCN. hi. endothelium in osseointegration. Methods. Under an IACUC-approved protocol, the implant was inserted into the right tibia of 16-week-old female C57BL/6 mice (N = 38). The mice were then randomized into 2 groups: Control group (N=19) and Anti-VEGFR group (N=19). A cocktail of VEGFR-1 antibody (25mg/kg) and VEGFR-2 antibody (25mg/kg) was given to the mice in the Anti-VEGFR group by intraperitoneal injection every third day starting immediately after surgery until euthanasia. An equivalent amount of an isotype control antibody was given to the control group. Flow cytometric (N = 4/group) and immunofluorescencent (N = 3/group) analyses were performed at 2 weeks post-implantation to detect the distribution and density of CD31. hi. EMCN. hi. endothelium in the peri-implant bone. Pull-out testing was used at 4 weeks post-implantation to determine the strength of the bone-implant interface. Results. Flow cytometry revealed that Anti-VEGFR treatment decreased CD31. hi. EMCN. hi. vascular endothelium percentage in the peri-implant bone vs. control (p = 0.039) at 2 weeks post-implantation (Fig. 1). This was confirmed by the decrease of CD31 and EMCN double positive cells detected with immunofluorescence at the same time point (Fig. 2). More importantly, anti-VEGFR treatment decreased the maximum load of pullout testing compared with control (p = 0.042) (Fig. 3). Conclusion. VEGF is a key mediator of osseointegration and the development of CD31. hi. EMCN. hi. endothelium. This may provide a new drug target for the enhancement of osseointegration. We have also developed a system to run flow cytometric analysis and perform fluorescent staining on the limited tissue around the implant in this mouse model. This study was performed to evaluate the results of transphyseal anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in children with open physes. Between 2001 and 2009, 31 knees in 29 patients with a mean age of 14.1 years (10-16) underwent transphyseal, arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using an autogenous four-strand hamstrings graft. The technique was identical to that used in the adult population in our unit, except that care was taken to ensure fixation did not cross the physes. The patients were followed up to the point of physeal closure at skeletal maturity. The mean length of follow up was 25 months. The primary outcome measure was graft survival. Functional outcome was measured using Lysolm scores, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) scores and the Tegner activity scale. Post-operative clinical examination and radiological findings were also recorded. There were two cases of re-rupture following a further sports injury, one 12 months post-operative and one at six years. Both patients later had successful revision ACL reconstructive surgery. The re-rupture rate in this case series was 6%. Two patients underwent repair of a concomitant lateral meniscal tear at the time of surgery. The mean post-operative Lysolm score was 88 and the mean IKDC score was 88.1. The mean Tegner activity scale was 7.95. There was no evidence of growth disturbance radiologically or leg length inequality clinically. There was one case of deep infection which was successfully treated with two subsequent arthroscopic washouts. Aims

Tourniquets have potential adverse effects including postoperative thigh pain, likely caused by their ischaemic and possible compressive effects. The aims of this preliminary study were to determine if it is possible to directly measure intramuscular pH in human subjects over time, and to measure the intramuscular pH changes resulting from tourniquet ischaemia in patients undergoing knee arthroscopy.

Methods

For patients undergoing short knee arthroscopic procedures, a sterile calibrated pH probe was inserted into the anterior fascial compartment of the leg after skin preparation, but before tourniquet inflation. The limb was elevated for three minutes prior to tourniquet inflation to 250 mmHg or 300 mmHg. Intramuscular pH was recorded at one-second intervals throughout the procedure and for 20 minutes following tourniquet deflation. Probe-related adverse events were recorded.

The early surgical management of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in children remains controversial. The argument for nonoperative treatment is driven by concerns about the risk of growth arrest caused by a transphyseal procedure. On the other hand, early surgical reconstruction is favoured because of poor compliance with conservative treatment and increased risk of secondary damage due to instability. This paper reports a series of 39 very young children who had an ACL reconstruction using a transphyseal procedure with a hamstring graft. Patients were followed to skeletal maturity or for a minimum of three years. Only those patients with either a chronological age less than 14 years or with a Tanner stage of 1 and 2 of puberty were included in the study. Thirty children were Tanner 1 or 2 and nine were Tanner 3-4 but were younger than 14. The mean age at operation was 12.2 years (Range 9.5-14.2, Median 12.4). The mean follow up was 60.7 months (range 36-129, median: 51) months. Thirty four patients had attained skeletal maturity at the last follow up. The mean Lysholm score improved from 72.4 pre-operatively to 95.86 postoperatively (p<0.0001). The mean Tegner activity scale was 4.23 after injury and it improved to 7.52 after operation (p<0.0001)) which was a reasonable comparison to the pre- injury score of 8.0. One patient had a mild valgus deformity with no functional disturbance. No other growth related abnormalities including limb length discrepancy were noted. There has been one re-rupture but all others had good or excellent outcome. This is one of the largest series reporting the long term results of ACL reconstruction in very young children. Most other studies include children up to the age of 16. Based on our results we can conclude that transphyseal ACL reconstruction modified for very young patients is a safe procedure

Aims

Once knee arthritis and deformity have occurred, it is currently not known how to determine a patient’s constitutional (pre-arthritic) limb alignment. The purpose of this study was to describe and validate the arithmetic hip-knee-ankle (aHKA) algorithm as a straightforward method for preoperative planning and intraoperative restoration of the constitutional limb alignment in total knee arthroplasty (TKA).

Methods

A comparative cross-sectional, radiological study was undertaken of 500 normal knees and 500 arthritic knees undergoing TKA. By definition, the aHKA algorithm subtracts the lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA) from the medial proximal tibial angle (MPTA). The mechanical HKA (mHKA) of the normal group was compared to the mHKA of the arthritic group to examine the difference, specifically related to deformity in the latter. The mHKA and aHKA were then compared in the normal group to assess for differences related to joint line convergence. Lastly, the aHKA of both the normal and arthritic groups were compared to test the hypothesis that the aHKA can estimate the constitutional alignment of the limb by sharing a similar centrality and distribution with the normal population.

Aims

The purpose of this study was to explore the correlation between femoral torsion and morphology of the distal femoral condyle in patients with trochlear dysplasia and lateral patellar instability.

Methods

A total of 90 patients (64 female, 26 male; mean age 22.1 years (SD 7.2)) with lateral patellar dislocation and trochlear dysplasia who were awaiting surgical treatment between January 2015 and June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent CT scans of the lower limb to assess the femoral torsion and morphology of the distal femur. The femoral torsion at various levels was assessed using the a) femoral anteversion angle (FAA), b) proximal and distal anteversion angle, c) angle of the proximal femoral axis-anatomical epicondylar axis (PFA-AEA), and d) angle of the AEA–posterior condylar line (AEA-PCL). Representative measurements of distal condylar length were taken and parameters using the ratios of the bianterior condyle, biposterior condyle, bicondyle, anterolateral condyle, and anteromedial condyle were calculated and correlated with reference to the AEA, using the Pearson Correlation coefficient.
