Purpose. To highlight the cardiovascular responses of a trainee and supervising consultant while performing Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) and to demonstrate the impact that supervision has on both their responses. Methods. A third year orthopaedic trainee and his consultant underwent non-invasive, continuous cardiac monitoring while performing three primary TKAs. The consultant performed one TKA with the trainee assisting. The trainee then performed two TKAs as primary surgeon. The consultant supervised one TKA scrubbed and the other un-scrubbed. A third person noted the timing of each distinct intra-operative step. A significant peak was defined as an increase in heart rate (HR) of >10%. Results. Trainee. Significant peaks were only observed when acting as primary surgeon. Peaks occurred during patient positioning, approach, femoral cut, tibial cut, component trial, soft tissue balancing and cementation. Maximum HR was observed during cementation. Scrubbed supervision reduced the magnitude of these peaks and of the maximum HR. Consultant. Significant peaks were only observed when supervising the trainee. Timing of these peaks and the maximum HR coincided with those of the trainee. Both were of the higher magnitude when supervising un-scrubbed. Conclusion. Significant peaks in HR illustrate the cardiovascular impact of performing TKA. This impact is greatest during the seven definitive steps of the procedure that we have highlighted. This cardiovascular impact of performing TKA reduces as the experience of the surgeon increases. Supervision of a less experienced/trainee surgeon performing a TKA also has a cardiovascular impact on the supervising consultant. To reduce this impact on both trainee and consultant we suggest that supervision, when required, is best provided scrubbed rather than un-scrubbed


Aims. Classifying trochlear dysplasia (TD) is useful to determine the treatment options for patients suffering from patellofemoral instability (PFI). There is no consensus on which classification system is more reliable and reproducible for the purpose of guiding clinicians’ management of PFI. There are also concerns about the validity of the Dejour Classification (DJC), which is the most widely used classification for TD, having only a fair reliability score. The Oswestry-Bristol Classification (OBC) is a recently proposed system of classification of TD, and the authors report a fair-to-good interobserver agreement and good-to-excellent intraobserver agreement in the assessment of TD. The aim of this study was to compare the reliability and reproducibility of these two classifications. Methods. In all, six assessors (four consultants and two registrars) independently evaluated 100 axial MRIs of the patellofemoral joint (PFJ) for TD and classified them according to OBC and DJC. These assessments were again repeated by all raters after four weeks. The inter- and intraobserver reliability scores were calculated using Cohen’s kappa and Cronbach’s α. Results. Both classifications showed good to excellent interobserver reliability with high α scores. The OBC classification showed a substantial intraobserver agreement (mean kappa 0.628; p < 0.005) whereas the DJC showed a moderate agreement (mean kappa 0.572; p < 0.005). There was no significant difference in the kappa values when comparing the assessments by consultants with those by registrars, in either classification system. Conclusion. This large study from a non-founding institute shows both classification systems to be reliable for classifying TD based on axial MRIs of the PFJ, with the simple-to-use OBC having a higher intraobserver reliability score than that of the DJC. Abstract. Introduction. MRI scanning is the establish method of defining intra- and extra-articular diagnoses of patients with non-arthritic knee problems. Discrepancies in reporting have been noted in previous historic studies and anecdotally. The aim of this study was to analyse the reporting of intra-articular pathology and discrepancies in knee MRI reports by two clinician groups, consultant radiologists and consultant knee surgeons in a district hospital setting. Methods. A retrospective case-controlled cohort study was conducted using data collected from an outpatient physiotherapy-led knee clinic. Seventy-four patients in the cohort were referred for an MRI scan of their knee(s) following a clinical examination and history. MRI reports from both the consultant knee surgeon and the radiologist were entered into a database with other clinical details. Reports were analysed to determine number of diagnoses and degree of agreement. Each report was deemed to either completely agree, completely disagree or partially agree. Results. 87 knees were scanned in total. Of the 87 reports, 14% (n=12) completely agreed. 45% of the reports (n=39) partially agreed and 41% (n=36) completely disagreed. Of the reports which partially agreed 79% (n=31) had a percentage agreement of ≤ 50%. Conclusions. This study reveals major discrepancies in knee MRI reporting by two clinician groups. This has greatest clinical impact on non-surgical clinicians and those with limited MRI reviewing experience who are reliant on reports to describe diagnoses to patients and determining management plans. More research is required to determine the reasons for these differences and measures to mitigate them

Abstract. Introduction. A lipohaemarthrosis seen on Horizontal beam lateral X-ray in acute knee injury is often considered predictive of an intra-articular fracture requiring further urgent imaging. Methodology. We retrospectively searched a five-year X-ray database for the term “lipohaemarthrosis”. We excluded cases if the report concluded “no lipohaemarthrosis” or “lipohaemarthrosis” AND “fracture”. All remaining cases were reviewed by an Orthopaedic Consultant with a special interest in knee injuries (AD) blinded to the report. X-rays were excluded if a fracture was seen, established osteoarthritic change was present, a pre-existing arthroplasty present or no lipohaemarthrosis present. Remaining cases were then studied for any subsequent Radiological or Orthopaedic surgical procedures. Results. 136 cases were identified and reviewed by an Orthopaedic Consultant. 31 were excluded for no lipohaemarthrosis (n= 11), for degenerative change (n=9), for fracture (n=4), for existing arthroplasty (n=4) and for data errors (n=3). The remaining 105 patients had a mean age of 32, and range 5–90 years. 66 patients underwent further imaging in the form of MRI scan (n=47), CT Scan (n=9) repeat x-rays (n=9) and ultrasound (n=1). 27 fractures were identified. Surgery was performed in 12 cases (11%). Two (2%) urgently (One ACL reconstruction plus meniscus repair, one for ORIF of tibial plateau fracture). Ten (10%) had elective surgery (6 for ACL reconstruction, 2 for ACL reconstruction plus meniscus repair, 2 for loose body removal. Conclusion. The presence of a lipohaemarthrosis on x-ray following acute knee injury was a poor predictor of intra-articular fracture (26%) or need for urgent surgery (2%)

Aims. Aseptic loosening is the most common cause of failure following cemented total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and has been linked to poor cementation technique. We aimed to develop a consensus on the optimal technique for component cementation in TKA. Methods. A UK-based, three-round, online modified Delphi Expert Consensus Study was completed focusing on cementation technique in TKA. Experts were identified as having a minimum of five years’ consultant experience in the NHS and fulfilling any one of the following criteria: a ‘high volume’ knee arthroplasty practice (> 150 TKAs per annum) as identified from the National joint Registry of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man; a senior author of at least five peer reviewed articles related to TKA in the previous five years; a surgeon who is named trainer for a post-certificate of comletion of training fellowship in TKA. Results. In total, 81 experts (round 1) and 80 experts (round 2 and 3) completed the Delphi Study. Four domains with a total of 24 statements were identified. 100% consensus was reached within the cement preparation, pressurization, and cement curing domains. 90% consensus was reached within the cement application domain. Consensus was not reached with only one statement regarding the handling of cement during initial application to the tibial and/or femoral bone surfaces. Conclusion. The Cementing Techniques In Knee Surgery (CeTIKS) Delphi consensus study presents comprehensive recommendations on the optimal technique for component cementing in TKA. Expert opinion has a place in the hierarchy of evidence and, until better evidence is available these recommendations should be considered when cementing a TKA. Aims. Nearly 99,000 total knee arthroplasties (TKAs) are performed in UK annually. Despite plenty of research, the satisfaction rate of this surgery is around 80%. One of the important intraoperative factors affecting the outcome is alignment. The relationship between joint obliquity and functional outcomes is not well understood. Therefore, a study is required to investigate and compare the effects of two types of alignment (mechanical and kinematic) on functional outcomes and range of motion. Methods. The aim of the study is to compare navigated kinematically aligned TKAs (KA TKAs) with navigated mechanically aligned TKA (MA TKA) in terms of function and ROM. We aim to recruit a total of 96 patients in the trial. The patients will be recruited from clinics of various consultants working in the trust after screening them for eligibility criteria and obtaining their informed consent to participate in this study. Randomization will be done prior to surgery by a software. The primary outcome measure will be the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score The secondary outcome measures include Oxford Knee Score, ROM, EuroQol five-dimension questionnaire, EuroQol visual analogue scale, 12-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-12), and Forgotten Joint Score. The scores will be calculated preoperatively and then at six weeks, six months, and one year after surgery. The scores will undergo a statistical analysis. Discussion. There is no clear evidence on the best alignment for a knee arthroplasty. This randomized controlled trial will test the null hypothesis that navigated KA TKAs do not perform better than navigated MA TKAs. Cite this article: Bone Jt Open 2021;2(11):945–950

Abstract. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings in orthopaedic surgery are evolving. The goals include patient optimisation, surgical planning and discharge arrangements, individually on a patient specific basis. In line with British Association Surgery of the Knee and GIRFT guidelines, we report our regional experience on the implementation and evolution of our regional Revision Knee Arthroplasty MDT. We undertook a retrospective review of the process, cases discussed and quality assurance conducted in the weekly MDT. Since implementation of the MDT meeting in January 2019, 550 patients with painful joint replacements have been discussed. In May 2021, we formalised our ‘terms of reference’ and ‘standard operating procedures’ which are adhered to by the consultants operating within the network, all of whom attend the meeting. A proforma has been developed and is completed for all cases capturing all pertinent information. All cases are graded according to R1, R2, or R3 complexity scale. Since its inception, the MDT has looked at all post-operative imaging, we now describe a new classification system for grading the appearances. Confirmation of the pre-operative plan and actual surgical intervention is reviewed and audited. In addition, confirmation of indication of revision at the time of operation is reviewed and validated for accuracy with benefits to the unit, individual surgeon and the NJR. In conclusion, the implementation of the revision MDT facilitating pre-operative revision arthroplasty discussion and post-operative quality assurance processes enable surgeons to educate, reflect on their practice and ensure that the highest standards of care are being provided

Abstract. Introduction. Knee arthroscopy can be used for ligamentous repair, reconstruction and to reduce burden of infection. Understanding and feeling confident with knee arthroscopy is therefore a highly important skillset for the orthopaedic surgeon. However, with limited training or experience, furthered by reduced practical education due to COVID-19, this skill can be under-developed amongst trainee surgeons. Methods. At a single institution, ten junior doctors (FY1 to CT2), were recruited as a part of a five, two-hour session, training programme utilising the Simbionix® ARTHRO Mentor knee arthroscopy simulator, supplemented alongside educational guidance with a consultant orthopaedic knee surgeon. All students had minimal to no levels of prior arthroscopic experience. Exercises completed included maintaining steadiness, image centering and orientation, probe triangulation, arthroscopic knee examination, removal of loose bodies, and meniscectomy. Pre and post-experience questionnaires and quantitative repeat analysis on simulation exercises were undertaken to identify levels of improvement. Results. Comparing pre and post-experience questionnaires significant improvements in levels of confidence were noted in the following domains: naming arthroscopic instruments, port positioning and insertion, recognising normal anatomy arthroscopically, holding and using arthroscopic instruments and assisting in a live theatre setting (p<0.05). Significant improvements were noted in time taken to complete, distance covered in metres and roughness of instruments used on the simulated exercises on repeat performance (p<0.05). Conclusion. With only five sessions under senior guidance, using a simulator such as the ARTHRO Mentor, significant improvements in both levels of confidence and skill can be developed even among individuals with no prior experience

Abstract. The Montgomery ruling advocates patients be informed of ‘material risks’ of a procedure. With no guidelines for patients wishing to return to high activity levels after knee arthroplasty, we explore patient and surgeon perceptions in climbers. Ethical approval was granted by the University of Central Lancashire. Anonymous questionnaires were sent via email and social media to consultant knee arthroplasty surgeons and to climbers/mountaineers across the UK. Consultants were asked about advice given for patients who participate in climbing. Climbers were asked about their experiences of knee arthroplasty and return to activity. Of 33 knee arthroplasty surgeons, 11(33%) were firmly against any return to climbing, 10(30%) counselled against it, and 12(36%) were open to return to previous activity. Of 11(33%) surgeons who do not gather information about levels of climbing, 8 would not provide specific advice regarding risks of returning to sport. Of 28 climbers, only 5(18%) were informed to cease completely, with 11(39%) cautioned against and 12(43%) permitted to return. There was no correlation between the advice received and climbing ability post-operatively, (kappa=0.143,p=0.058), with a substantial agreement between ability 1-year post-operatively and currently, (kappa=0.689,p<0.001). There is a discrepancy between the advice given and received by climbers/mountaineers prior to knee arthroplasty, with ability post-operatively having no relationship to advice given. Climbing is possible at high level with no reported complications following knee arthroplasty. The 1-year time point is predictive of longer-term outcome. This information should help surgeons better inform their patients preoperatively

Abstract. Introduction. Osteotomy is recognised treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee. Evidence suggests favourable outcomes when compared to arthroplasty, for younger and more active individuals[1]. Double level osteotomy (DLO) is considered when a single level is insufficient to restore both joint line obliquity and adequate realignment[2]. This paper aims to establish the functional outcomes up to two years post operatively for patients undergoing DLO, using patient reported outcome measures (PROMs). Methodology. All patients who underwent a DLO at either Lister Hospital, Stevenage, or One Hatfield Hospital, Hertfordshire, between 1st January 2018 and 1st October 2020 were identified. DLO were performed by two specialist consultants, independently or in combination. PROMs including pain scores, health score, Oxford knee score (OKS) and knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score (KOOS) were recorded pre-operatively and at six month, one and two year post operative intervals. Results. 24 patients underwent DLO; a medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy and lateral closing wedge distal femoral osteotomy. The cohort comprised 21 males, 3 females with an average age of 54.09 (38–77) years. Preoperative pain scores graded from 0–10 improved from 6.86 to 2.0 at 2 years. OKS improved from 23.94 to 47.88, as did KOOS 43.55 to 87.51, over the same duration. Conclusion. DLO was associated with improvements in pain and functional outcomes, compared to pre-operative levels. In patients for whom arthroplasty may be unfavourable, this provides an alternative to non-operative management, the options for which are frequently exhausted early in the disease process

Abstract. Introduction. Challenges in surgical training have led to the exploration of technologies such as augmented reality (AR), which present novel approaches to teaching orthopaedic procedures to medical students. The aim of this double-blinded randomised-controlled trial was to compare the validity and training effect of AR to traditional teaching on medical students’ understanding of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methodology. Twenty medical students from 7 UK universities were randomised equally to either intervention or control groups. The control received a consultant-led teaching session and the intervention received training via Microsoft HoloLens, where surgeons were able to project virtual information over physical objects. Participants completed written knowledge and practical exams which were assessed by 2 orthopaedic consultants. Training superiority was established via 4 quantitative outcome measures: OSATS scores, a checklist of TKA-specific steps, procedural time, and written exam scores. Qualitative feedback was evaluated using a 5-point Likert scale. Results. AR training was superior in teaching basic technical proficiency and understanding of TKA, with the intervention group significantly outperforming the control group in 3 metrics [OSATS (38.6%, p=0.021), checklist (33%, p=0.011) and written exam (54.5%, p=0.001)]. Procedural time was equivalent between cohorts (p=0.082). AR was rated as significantly more enjoyable (p=0.044), realistic (p=0.003), easy to understand (p=0.040), and proficient in teaching (p=0.02). Conclusion. In this adequately powered, double-blinded randomised-controlled trial, AR training demonstrated substantially improved translational technical skills and knowledge needed to understand TKA over traditional learning in medical students. Additionally, the results showed face, content, and transfer validity for AR in surgical training


Abstract. The radiographic or bony landmark techniques are the two most common methods to determine Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) femoral tunnel placement. Their intra/inter-observer reliability is widely debated. The palpation technique relies on identifying the medial epicondyle (ME) and adductor Tubercle (AT). The central longitudinal artery and associated vessels (CLV) are consistently seen in the surgical dissection during MPFL reconstruction. The aim of this study was to investigate the anatomic relationship of CLV to ME-AT and thereby use CLV as an important vascular landmark during MPFL reconstruction. A retrospective review of MRI scans in skeletally mature patients presenting to a tertiary referral knee clinic was undertaken. Group-N consisted of any presentation without patellofemoral instability or malalignment (PFI). Group-P with PFI. MRI's were reviewed and measured by two Consultant Radiologists for the CLV-ME-AT anatomy and relationship. Following exclusions 50 patients were identified in each group. The CLV passed anterior to the AT and ME in all patients. ME morphology did not differ greatly between the groups except in the tubercle height, where there was a statically but not clinically significant difference (larger in the non-PFI group, 2.95mm vs 2.52mm, p=0.002). The CLV to ME Tip distance was consistent between the groups (Group PFI group 3.8mm & ‘normal’ non-PFI Group 3.9mm). The CLV-ME-AT relationship remained consistent despite patients presenting pathology. The CLV consistently courses anterior to ME and AT. The CLV could be used as a vascular landmark assisting femoral tunnel placement during MPFL reconstruction

Abstract. INTRODUCTION. COVID-19 reduced availability of cross-sectional imaging, prompting the need to clinically justify pre-operative computed tomography (CT) in tibial plateau fractures (TPF). The study purpose was to establish to what extent does a CT alter the pre-operative plan in TPF compared to radiographs. There is a current paucity of evidence assessing its impact on surgical planning. METHODOLOGY. 50 consecutive TPF with preoperative CT were assessed by 4 consultant surgeons. Anonymised radiographs were assessed defining the column classification, planned setup, approach, and fixation technique. At a 1-month interval, randomised matched CT scans were assessed and the same data collected. A tibial plateau disruption score (TPDS) was derived for all 4 quadrants (no injury=0,split=1,split/depression=2 and depression=3). Radiograph and CT TPDS were assessed using an unpaired T-test. RESULTS. 26 female and 24 male patients, mean age 50.3, were included. Mean TPDS on radiographs and CT scans were 2.77 and 3.17 respectively. A significant higher net CT TPDS was observed of 0.4 (95%CI 0.10-0.71)[P=0.0093]. Both radiograph and CT TPDS ANOVA were significant (P<0.0001), showing high intraobserver variability for TPF classification. Fracture apex requiring fixation changed in 34% of cases between the radiographs and CT, whilst set-up and surgical approach changed in 27% and 28.5% of cases respectively. All surgeons agreed no CT was required in only 11 out of 50 cases. CONCLUSION. CT scanning in TPF significantly affects the classification, setup, approach and fixation technique when compared to radiographs alone and can justifiably be requested as part of pre-operative planning

Abstract. The Coronavirus pandemic mandated an immediate and dramatic change in the delivery of acute trauma services to minimise face-to-face contact. In our hospital, patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a knee injury and no fracture seen on Xrays were referred to a “Virtual Fracture Clinic” (VFC) where Xrays and clinical notes were reviewed by the duty Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant the following working day. We present the outcomes of 101 consecutive patients managed through this process and deemed to have a “Soft Tissue Knee Injury” with a minimum follow-up of six months. All Xrays were reviewed by a sub-specialist knee surgeon blinded to notes or clinical outcomes. Electronic clinical records were reviewed to determine further clinical appointments, surgical treatment and pending interventions. Of 101 patients, the knee surgeon diagnosed 1 Fracture, 4 Lipo-haemarthroses, 41 significant effusions and 55 patients with normal Xrays. Correlation to urgent surgery was 100% for fracture (1/1), 25% for Lipo-haemarthrosis (1/4), 7.3% for significant effusion (3/41) and 9.1% for normal Xrays (5/55). A further 9.8% (4/41) of the “effusion” group and 7.3% (4/55) of the “normal” group were subsequently listed for non-urgent surgery. Overall 17% (7/41) of “effusion” patients and 16% (9/55) of “normal” patients required surgery. Management plans from VFC varied within groups. Acute “soft-tissue” injuries of the knee in adults cannot be reliably managed via VFC based on X-ray findings. A staged review by an appropriately trained health professional could reduce demand on acute knee surgical clinics and may enhance patient outcomes

Aims. The aim of this to study was to compare the previously unreported long-term survival outcome of the Oxford medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) performed by trainee surgeons and consultants. . Patients and Methods. We therefore identified a previously unreported cohort of 1084 knees in 947 patients who had a UKA inserted for anteromedial knee arthritis by consultants and surgeons in training, at a tertiary arthroplasty centre and performed survival analysis on the group with revision as the endpoint. Results. The ten-year cumulative survival rate for revision or exchange of any part of the prosthetic components was 93.2% (95% confidence interval (CI) 86.1 to 100, number at risk 45). Consultant surgeons had a nine-year cumulative survival rate of 93.9% (95% CI 90.2 to 97.6, number at risk 16). Trainee surgeons had a cumulative nine-year survival rate of 93.0% (95% CI 90.3 to 95.7, number at risk 35). Although there was no differences in implant survival between consultants and trainees (p = 0.30), there was a difference in failure pattern whereby all re-operations performed for bearing dislocation (n = 7), occurred in the trainee group. This accounted for 0.6% of the entire cohort and 15% of the re-operations. . Conclusion. This is the largest single series of the Oxford UKA ever reported and demonstrates that good results can be achieved by a heterogeneous group of surgeons, including trainees, if performed within a high-volume centre with considerable experience with the procedure. Aims. The Oswestry-Bristol Classification (OBC) is an MRI-specific assessment tool to grade trochlear dysplasia. The aim of this study is to validate clinically the OBC by demonstrating its use in selecting treatments that are safe and effective. Methods. The OBC and the patellotrochlear index were used as part of the Oswestry Patellotrochlear Algorithm (OPTA) to guide the surgical treatment of patients with patellar instability. Patients were assigned to one of four treatment groups: medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLr); MPFLr + tibial tubercle distalization (TTD); trochleoplasty; or trochleoplasty + TTD. A prospective analysis of a longitudinal patellofemoral database was performed. Between 2012 and 2018, 202 patients (233 knees) with a mean age of 24.2 years (SD 8.1), with recurrent patellar instability were treated by two fellowship-trained consultant sports/knee surgeons at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Clinical efficacy of each treatment group was assessed by Kujala, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC), and EuroQol five-dimension questionnaire (EQ-5D) scores at baseline, and up to 60 months postoperatively. Their safety was assessed by complication rate and requirement for further surgery. The pattern of clinical outcome over time was analyzed using mixed regression modelling. Results. In all, 135 knees (mean age 24.9 years (SD 9.4)) were treated using a MPFLr. Ten knees (7.4%) required additional surgery. A total of 50 knees (mean age 24.4 years (SD 6.3)) were treated using MPFLr + TTD. Ten (20%) required additional surgery. A total of 20 knees (mean age 19.5 years (SD 3.0)) were treated using trochleoplasty + TTD. Three patients (15%) required additional surgery. In each treatment group, there was a significant improvement in Kujala, IKDC, and EQ-5D at one year postoperatively (p < 0.001) with a recognized level of overall complication rate. Conclusion. The OBC is a valid assessment tool to grade patients with trochlear dysplasia and, when used as part of the OPTA, helps to determine treatments that are safe and effective. Aims

The aim of this study was to identify variables associated with time to revision, demographic details associated with revision indication, and type of prosthesis employed, and to describe the survival of hinge knee arthroplasty (HKA) when used for first-time knee revision surgery and factors that were associated with re-revision.

Methods

Patient demographic details, BMI, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade, indication for revision, surgical approach, surgeon grade, implant type (fixed and rotating), time of revision from primary implantation, and re-revision if undertaken were obtained from the National Joint Registry data for England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Isle of Man over an 18-year period (2003 to 2021).

Aims

This study aims to identify the top unanswered research priorities in the field of knee surgery using consensus-based methodology.

Methods

Initial research questions were generated using an online survey sent to all 680 members of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK). Duplicates were removed and a longlist was generated from this scoping exercise by a panel of 13 experts from across the UK who provided oversight of the process. A modified Delphi process was used to refine the questions and determine a final list. To rank the final list of questions, each question was scored between one (low importance) and ten (high importance) in order to produce the final list.

Aims

This prospective study reports longitudinal, within-patient, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) over a 15-year period following cemented single radius total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Secondary aims included reporting PROMs trajectory, 15-year implant survival, and patient attrition from follow-up.

Methods

From 2006 to 2007, 462 consecutive cemented cruciate-retaining Triathlon TKAs were implanted in 426 patients (mean age 69 years (21 to 89); 290 (62.7%) female). PROMs (12-item Short Form Survey (SF-12), Oxford Knee Score (OKS), and satisfaction) were assessed preoperatively and at one, five, ten, and 15 years. Kaplan-Meier survival and univariate analysis were performed.
