Topographic anatomy and general distribution of LFCA is well described in anatomy textbooks. Its contribution to the vascularization of specific anatomic structures in the hip region is poorly defined. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the importance of LFCA in hip circulation, especially in the vascularization of hip abductors. The LFCA was specifically studied in 30 hips from 26 fresh cadavers after injection of common iliac artery or aorta with colored silicone for a more extensive
Infection following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) can cause significant morbidity to the patient and be associated with significant costs and burdens to the healthcare system. Wound complications often initiate the cascade that can eventually lead to deep infection and implant failure. Galat et al. reported that wound complications following TKA requiring surgical treatment were associated with 2-year cumulative risks of major reoperation and deep infection of 5.3% and 6.0%, respectively. Consequently, developing a systematic approach to the management of wound problems following TKA can potentially minimise subsequent complications. Unlike the

Now that we are in the deceleration phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus has shifted to how to safely reinstate elective operating. Regional and speciality specific data is important to guide this decision-making process. This study aimed to review 30-day mortality for all patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery during the peak of the pandemic within our region. This multicentre study reviewed data on all patients undergoing trauma and orthopaedic surgery in a region from 18 March 2020 to 27 April 2020. Information was collated from regional databases. Patients were COVID-19-positive if they had positive laboratory testing and/or imaging consistent with the infection. 30-day mortality was assessed for all patients. Secondly, 30-day mortality in fracture neck of femur patients was compared to the same time period in 2019.Aims
Methods
Using a simple classification method, we aimed to estimate the collapse rate due to osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) in order to develop treatment guidelines for joint-preserving surgeries. We retrospectively analyzed 505 hips from 310 patients (141 men, 169 women; mean age 45.5 years Objectives
