Rocker bottom deformity may occur during the conservative treatment of idiopathic congenital clubfoot. Between 1975 and 1996, we treated 715 patients (1120 clubfeet) conservatively. A total of 23 patients (36 feet; 3.2%) developed a rocker bottom deformity. It is these patients that we have studied. The pathoanatomy of the rocker bottom deformity is characterised by a plantar convexity appearing between three and six months of age with the hindfoot equinus position remaining constant. The convexity initially involves the medial column, radiologically identified by the talo-first metatarsal angle and secondly by the lateral column, revealed radiologically as the calcaneo-fifth metatarsal angle. The apex of the deformity is usually at the midtrasal with a dorsal calcaneocuboid subluxation. Ideal management of clubfoot deformity should avoid this complication, with adequate manipulation and splinting and early Achilles’ percutaneous tenotomy if plantar convexity occurs. Adequate soft-tissue release provides satisfactory correction for rocker bottom deformity. However, this deformity requires more extensive and complex procedures than the standard surgical treatment of clubfoot. The need for lateral radiographs to ensure that the rocker bottom deformity is recognised early, is demonstrated

Background

Optimal management of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures remains controversial. The aim of this prospective cohort study was to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) versus non-operative treatment in displaced intra-articular calcaneal fracture up to 2-years.

Methods

All displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures between August 2014 and January 2019 that presented to a level 1 trauma centre were considered for inclusion. The decision to treat was made by a multidisciplinary meeting. Operative treatment protocol involved sinus tarsi approach or percutaneous reduction & internal fixation. Non-operative protocol involved symptomatic management with no attempt at closed reduction. All fractures were classified, and the MOXFQ/EQ-5D-5L scores were used to assess foot and ankle and general health-related quality of life outcomes respectively.

Introduction. Acute ankle injuries are commonly seen in musculoskeletal practice. Surgical management is the gold standard for lateral ligament injury in those with failed conservative treatment for a minimum of six months. Several studies have shown good functional outcome and early rehabilitation after MBG repair with an internal brace augmentation which is a braided ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene ligament used to enhance the repair that acts as a secondary stabiliser. Hence the aim of the study was to compare the results with and without augmentation. Methods. A single centre retrospective review conducted between November 2017 and October 2019 and this included 172 patients with symptomatic chronic lateral ligament instability with failed conservative management. The diagnosis was confirmed by MRI. All patients had an ankle arthroscopy followed by open ligament repair. Patients were grouped into isolated MBG and internal brace groups for analyses and all had dedicated rehabilitation. Results. A total of 148 patients were available for final follow up with 87 patients in the MBG group and 61 patients in the IBA group. Mean Age was 38 years and mean follow up was 22 months. The internal brace group showed better Manchester Oxford foot and ankle score (19.7 vs 18.2) and more patients returning to preinjury activity levels (73 vs 55) as compared to isolated repair. Conclusion. Internal brace augmentation with MBG repair facilitated early rehabilitation and return to pre injury activity level in majority of patients compared to isolated MBG repair

Aims. In the context of tendon degenerative disorders, the need for innovative conservative treatments that can improve the intrinsic healing potential of tendon tissue is progressively increasing. In this study, the role of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) in improving the tendon healing process was evaluated in a rat model of collagenase-induced Achilles tendinopathy. Methods. A total of 68 Sprague Dawley rats received a single injection of type I collagenase in Achilles tendons to induce the tendinopathy and then were daily exposed to PEMFs (1.5 mT and 75 Hz) for up to 14 days - starting 1, 7, or 15 days after the injection - to identify the best treatment option with respect to the phase of the disease. Then, 7 and 14 days of PEMF exposure were compared to identify the most effective protocol. Results. The daily exposure to PEMFs generally provided an improvement in the fibre organization, a decrease in cell density, vascularity, and fat deposition, and a restoration of the physiological cell morphology compared to untreated tendons. These improvements were more evident when the tendons were exposed to PEMFs during the mid-acute phase of the pathology (7 days after induction) rather than during the early (1 day after induction) or the late acute phase (15 days after induction). Moreover, the exposure to PEMFs for 14 days during the mid-acute phase was more effective than for 7 days. Conclusion. PEMFs exerted a positive role in the tendon healing process, thus representing a promising conservative treatment for tendinopathy, although further investigations regarding the clinical evaluation are needed. Introduction. Tibial nerve anatomy has not been studied profoundly in comparison to Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome (TTS). Assuming symptoms are caused by an anatomical variant or mechanical cause regarding the tibial nerve, it is essential to investigate the anatomy of this structure taking in consideration that surgical and conservative treatments have shown poor results. Methods. 40 lower-leg specimens were obtained. Dissection started 20 centimeters proximal to the Dellon-McKinnon (DM) line towards the medial aspect of the naviculo-cuneiform joint distally. Anteriorly, dissection began at the tibio-talar medial gutter until the medial aspect of the Achilles tendon posteriorly. The plantar aspect extended from medial to lateral within the parameters previously described, ending at the level of the second metatarsal. Results. The flexor retinaculum had a denser consistency in 22.5% of the cases and the average length was 51.9 mm. The flexor retinaculum as an independent structure was found absent and 77.2% of cases as undistinguished extension of the crural fascia. The lateral plantar nerver (LPN) and abductor digiti minimi (ADM) nerve shared same origin in 80% of cases, 34.5% bifurcated proximal to the DM line, 31.2% distally and 34.3% at the same level. The medial calcaneal nerve (MCN) emerged proximal to the DM line in 100% of specimens. The medial plantar nerve (MPN) has its origin proximal to the DM line in 95% of cases. Conclusion. The flexor retinaculum is an extension of the crural fascia and not an independent structure. The LPN and ADM have the same origin in most cases and this presents as an important finding that must be studied in detail for clinical correlations between the motor and sensatory affections of the ADM and LPN respectively. Finally, the branches of the MCN and MPN are the most constant in their distribution and proximal origin in relation to the Dellon-McKinnon line

Introduction. Active patients may benefit from surgical repair of the achilles tendon with the aim of preserving functional length and optimising push-off power. A mini-open device assisted technique has the potential to reduce wound complications, but risks nerve injury. We present the largest published series of midsubstance achilles tendon repairs using the Achillon® device. Methods. A prospective cohort study was run at the Princess Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital between 2008 and 2015. We included all patients who presented with a midsubstance Achilles tendon rupture within 2 weeks of injury, and device assisted mini-open repair was offered to a young active adult population. All patients in the conservative and surgical treatment pathway had the same functional rehabilitation protocol with a plaster for 2 weeks, and a VACOped boot in reducing equinus for a further 8 weeks. Results. 354 patients presented with a midsubstance achilles tendon rupture over a 7-year period, of which 204 had conservative treatment and 150 patients had surgical repair with the Achillon device. Patients were assessed clinically for a minimum of 10 weeks, with long-term notes surveillance for late complications. The rerupture rate for conservative treatment was 1.5%, with no reruptures in the Achillon group. Infections in the surgical group were superficial in 2 cases (1.3%) and deep in 3 cases (2%). Pulmonary embolus occurred in 2 Achillon cases (1.3%), and 1 conservatively managed case (0.5%). There was 1 case of temporary sural nerve irritation in each group. Discussion. Our series show encouraging results for the Achillon® repair with no reruptures and a low complication profile. Functional rehabilitation is likely to have contributed to the low rerupture rate. Studies are emerging that show earlier and improved calf muscle strength in those having surgical repair, suggesting a role for device assisted mini open repair in a selected population


Aims

Osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT) are a common cause of disability and chronic ankle pain. Many operative treatment strategies have been introduced; however, they have their own disadvantages. Recently lesion repair using autologous cartilage chip has emerged therefore we investigated the efficacy of particulated autologous cartilage transplantation (PACT) in OLT.

Methods

We retrospectively analyzed 32 consecutive symptomatic patients with OLT who underwent PACT with minimum one-year follow-up. Standard preoperative radiography and MRI were performed for all patients. Follow-up second-look arthroscopy or MRI was performed with patient consent approximately one-year postoperatively. Magnetic resonance Observation of Cartilage Repair Tissue (MOCART) score and International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS) grades were used to evaluate the quality of the regenerated cartilage. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the pain visual analogue scale (VAS), Foot Function Index (FFI), and Foot Ankle Outcome Scale (FAOS).


Aims

Arthroscopic microfracture is a conventional form of treatment for patients with osteochondritis of the talus, involving an area of < 1.5 cm2. However, some patients have persistent pain and limitation of movement in the early postoperative period. No studies have investigated the combined treatment of microfracture and shortwave treatment in these patients. The aim of this prospective single-centre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was to compare the outcome in patients treated with arthroscopic microfracture combined with radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy (rESWT) and arthroscopic microfracture alone, in patients with ostechondritis of the talus.

Methods

Patients were randomly enrolled into two groups. At three weeks postoperatively, the rESWT group was given shockwave treatment, once every other day, for five treatments. In the control group the head of the device which delivered the treatment had no energy output. The two groups were evaluated before surgery and at six weeks and three, six and 12 months postoperatively. The primary outcome measure was the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-Hindfoot Scale. Secondary outcome measures included a visual analogue scale (VAS) score for pain and the area of bone marrow oedema of the talus as identified on sagittal fat suppression sequence MRI scans.

In recent years, the plantaris tendon has been implicated in the development of chronic painful mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy. In some cases, a thickened plantaris tendon is closely associated with the Achilles tendon, and surgical excision of the plantaris tendon has been reported to be curative in patients who have not derived benefit following conservative treatment and surgical interventions. The aim of this review is to outline the basic aspects of, and the recent research findings, related to the plantaris tendon, covering anatomical and clinical studies including those dealing with histology, imaging and treatment. Lisfranc injuries were previously described as fracture-dislocations of the tarsometatarsal joints. With advancements in modern imaging, subtle Lisfranc injuries are now more frequently recognized, revealing that their true incidence is much higher than previously thought. Injury patterns can vary widely in severity and anatomy. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to achieve good outcomes. The original classification systems were anatomy-based, and limited as tools for guiding treatment. The current review, using the best available evidence, instead introduces a stability-based classification system, with weightbearing radiographs and CT serving as key diagnostic tools. Stable injuries generally have good outcomes with nonoperative management, most reliably treated with immobilization and non-weightbearing for six weeks. Displaced or comminuted injuries require surgical intervention, with open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) being the most common approach, with a consensus towards bridge plating. While ORIF generally achieves satisfactory results, its effectiveness can vary, particularly in high-energy injuries. Primary arthrodesis remains niche for the treatment of acute injuries, but may offer benefits such as lower rates of post-traumatic arthritis and hardware removal. Novel fixation techniques, including suture button fixation, aim to provide flexible stabilization, which theoretically could improve midfoot biomechanics and reduce complications. Early findings suggest promising functional outcomes, but further studies are required to validate this method compared with established techniques. Future research should focus on refining stability-based classification systems, validation of weightbearing CT, improving rehabilitation protocols, and optimizing surgical techniques for various injury patterns to ultimately enhance patient outcomes.

Aim. Young patients with ankle arthritis that remains symptomatic in spite of conservative treatment and following arthroscopic debridement are usually offered either ankle fusion or ankle replacement. Both these options are far from ideal in this age group. The aim of this study was to evaluate functional outcomes following ankle distraction to determine whether it is a reliable alternative for the treatment of ankle arthritis in young adults. Material and methods. Data was collected prospectively for 15 patients (9 males and 6 females, mean age 31.9 years) with “stage 2” ankle arthritis who failed conservative treatment and continued to be symptomatic following arthroscopic ankle debridement. Distraction of 8 mm was done using a dynamic constrained ankle circular frame and all patients were allowed full weight bearing all through the distraction process. The subjective functional evaluation was based on the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Score (AOFAS), the Foot Disability Index (FADI) and the Visual Analogue Score (VAS). In 10 patients the Manchester Oxford Foot questionnaire (MOXFQ) and the Short Form (SF) 12 patient satisfaction questionnaire were also filled preoperatively and at final follow up. Results. At a minimum follow-up of 24 months (mean 34.4) none of the patients required fusion or replacement. There was a significant improvement in all the functional outcome scores. There was also a significant improvement in the ankle joint space on weight bearing x-rays. Conclusion. Based on these results the use of ankle distraction can be considered a useful option for the treatment of symptomatic “stage 2” ankle arthritis in young adults. Longer-term follow-up and comparison with alternative techniques will be required to evaluate the true effectiveness of this treatment option

Aims

Although absorbable sutures for the repair of acute Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) have been attracting attention, the rationale for their use remains insufficient. This study prospectively compared the outcomes of absorbable and nonabsorbable sutures for the repair of acute ATR.

Methods

A total of 40 patients were randomly assigned to either braided absorbable polyglactin suture or braided nonabsorbable polyethylene terephthalate suture groups. ATR was then repaired using the Krackow suture method. At three and six months after surgery, the isokinetic muscle strength of ankle plantar flexion was measured using a computer-based Cybex dynamometer. At six and 12 months after surgery, patient-reported outcomes were measured using the Achilles tendon Total Rupture Score (ATRS), visual analogue scale for pain (VAS pain), and EuroQoL five-dimension health questionnaire (EQ-5D).

Müller Weiss disease (MWD) is characterized by lateral navicular necrosis which is associated with a varus alignment of the subtalar joint, varying degrees of arthritis of the talonavicular-cuneiform joints and a paradoxical flatfoot deformity in advanced cases. Although arthrodesis of the hindfoot is commonly used, we present the results of a previously unreported method of treatment using a calcaneus osteotomy incorporating a wedge and lateral translation. Fourteen patients with MWD who were treated with a calcaneus osteotomy were retrospectively reviewed. There were seven females and seven males with an average age of 56 years (range 33–79), and included one grade 5, five grade 4, four grade 3 and four grade 2 patients. Patients had been symptomatic for an average of eleven years (range 1–14), and all underwent initial conservative treatment with an orthotic support that posted the heel into valgus. The primary indication for surgery was a limited but positive response to the use of the orthotic support, and a desire to avoid an arthrodesis of the hindfoot. Results. Patients were followed for an average of three years following the procedure (range 1 – 7 years). Patients rated their pain on a visual analogue pain scale as an average of 8 (range 6–9) prior to surgery and an average of 2 postoperatively (range 0–4). The AOFAS scores improved from a mean of 29 (range 25 – 35) preoperatively to a mean of 79 (range 75–88) postoperatively. Hindfoot range of motion remained and the extent of arthritis of the navicular complex was unchanged. No patient has since required an arthrodesis. Since the majority of MWD patients respond to an orthotic support which changes the load of the hindfoot and forefoot, we believed that patients would respond positively to a calcaneal osteotomy as an alternative treatment

Aims

The ideal management of acute syndesmotic injuries in elite athletes is controversial. Among several treatment methods used to stabilize the syndesmosis and facilitate healing of the ligaments, the use of suture tape (InternalBrace) has previously been described. The purpose of this study was to analyze the functional outcome, including American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) scores, knee-to-wall measurements, and the time to return to play in days, of unstable syndesmotic injuries treated with the use of the InternalBrace in elite athletes.

Methods

Data on a consecutive group of elite athletes who underwent isolated reconstruction of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament using the InternalBrace were collected prospectively. Our patient group consisted of 19 elite male athletes with a mean age of 24.5 years (17 to 52). Isolated injuries were seen in 12 patients while associated injuries were found in seven patients (fibular fracture, medial malleolus fracture, anterior talofibular ligament rupture, and posterior malleolus fracture). All patients had a minimum follow-up period of 17 months (mean 27 months (17 to 35)).

Introduction. Diabetes is increasing on a global scale. By 2030, 10% of the global population, ½ billon people, are predicted to have diabetes. Potentially there will be a corresponding increase in number of patients referred for surgery. Traditional surgical management of these patients is challenging. Presented is a case series utilizing Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques of percutaneous metatarsal neck osteotomies, metatarsal head debridement, mid-foot closing-wedge osteotomies and hind-foot arthrodesis, for the surgical management of diabetic foot pathology. The potential socio-economic benefits analysis with regards to reduction in out-patient and theatre time, patient length of stay and time to healing are also postulated. Methods. Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques of metatarsal neck osteotomy, metatarsal head debridement, closing wedge osteotomy, mid-fusion and hind-foot arthrodesis nailing are described. Procedures are preformed as day cases with fluoroscopic guidance. Low speed, high torque burrs and wedges, create the osteotomies, which can be held with percutaneous fixation. Comparative cost analysis of conservative treatment, including clinic visits, out-patient debridement, dressings, intravenous and oral antibiotics, versus Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques is presented. Results. Six patients had metatarsal osteotomies for mechanical ulceration. Five reported good outcome. One patient required revision to forefoot arthroplasty due to mal-union. Five patients had debridement of metatarsal heads, which healed on average at six to eight weeks. Eight patients had mid-foot arthrodesis. Two infected cases required removal of metalwork. Three patients had hind-foot arthrodesis for arthritis following ankle fracture with degeneration and deformity. Patients had good short and early medium term outcomes, with no reports of below-knee amputation. This technique is reproducible once the initial learning curve is mastered. Comparative cost analysis, suggests significant financial savings by reducing inpatient admissions, clinic visits and theatre time. Conclusion. Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques may provide an alternative surgical management for diabetic patient with foot and ankle pathology

Background. We compared platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection to cortisone (40mg triamcinolone) injection in the treatment of chronic plantar fasciitis resistant to traditional nonoperative management. The aims were to compare early and long term efficacy of PRP to that of Steroid (3, 6 and 12 months after injection). Methods. 60 heels with intractable plantar fasciitis with failed conservative treatment were randomized to either PRP or Steroid injection. All patients were assessed with Roles-Maudsley (RM) Score, Visual Analogue Score (VAS) for pain and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score. Data was collected prospectively on the cohort, pre-treatment, at 3, 6 and 12 months post injection. The mean scores of the two groups were compared using Student t test. Results. Pre-injection, the two groups were well matched with no statistically significant difference in the values. At 3 months, all three outcome scores in both groups had significantly improved from their pretreatment level with no significant difference between the groups (PRP: RM 3.7 to 2.0, VAS 8.3 to 3.5, AOFAS 58 to 84; Steroid: RM 3.6 to 1.9, VAS 8.3 to 2.8, AOFAS 57 to 86). At 6 months, improvement was maintained in both groups with no significant difference between groups (PRP: RM 2.1, VAS 3.7, AOFAS 89; Steroid: RM 2.2, VAS 3.3, and AOFAS 84). At 12 months, all outcome measures were significantly better for the PRP group as response in the steroid group had deteriorated (PRP: RM 1.9, VAS 3.3 and AOFAS 89; Steroid: RM 2.6, VAS 5.1 and AOFAS 77: p = 0.008, 0.02 and 0.002 respectively). Conclusions. PRP is better for the treatment of chronic plantar fasciitis as compared to steroid. It shows no statistical difference in effectiveness early on, but unlike steroid, its effectiveness does not wear off with time, making it more durable

Introduction:. Symptomatic tarsal coalitions failing conservative treatment are traditionally managed by open resection. Arthroscopic excision of calcaneonavicular bars have previously been described as has a technique for excising talocalcaneal bars using an arthroscope to guide an open resection. We describe a purely arthroscopic technique for excising talocalcaneal coalitions. We present a retrospective two-surgeon case series of the first eight patients (nine feet). Methods:. Subtalar arthroscopy is performed from two standard sinus tarsi portals with the patient in a saggy lateral position. Coalitions are resected with a barrel burr after soft tissue clearance with arthroscopic shavers. Early postoperative mobilisation and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs prevent recurrence of coalition. Outcome measures include restoration of subtalar movements, return to work and sports, visual analogue pain scales and Sports Athlete Foot and Ankle Scores (SAFAS). Follow-up ranges from 1 to 5.5 years. Results:. Pain and SAFAS scores improved in 7 patients. Subtalar movements were improved in all feet and were sustained to final follow-up. All patients achieved early good function and returned to sports and demanding jobs. One patient's pain recurred requiring subsequent fusions. One posterior tibial nerve was damaged. Both of these patients had coalitions extending across more than one quarter of the posterior facet. Conclusion:. Minimal destruction of bone and soft tissues with an arthroscopic technique allows early mobilization and minimizes pain. We acknowledge the risk of neurological damage from both open and arthroscopic excision of tarsal coalitions. Patient selection and preoperative planning are crucial to avoid relapse and complication. If significant degenerative changes are present at surgery or resections are too extensive onto the posterior facet early recurrence of pain may occur. This series from two independent surgeons supports the feasibility and effectiveness of this technique

Introduction. The mainstay of treatment in non-insertional Achilles tendinopathy is non-operative, however between 1/4 and 1/3 of patients fail this. The main symptom is pain which appears to be related to new nerve endings that grow into the tendon with the neovessels from the paratenon. Treatments which strip the paratenon from the tendon are showing promise including formal paratenon stripping via Achilles tendinoscopy. The pain and swelling in Achilles tendinopathy is usually on the medial side leading to the postulation that the plantaris tendon may have a role to play. Methods. We report a consecutive series of 11 patients who underwent Achilles tendinoscopy with stripping of the paratenon and division of the plantaris tendon, above the level of the tendinopathic changes in the Achilles. All patients had failed conservative treatment for at least 6 months and requested surgical intervention. The patients were scored with the SF-36, AOS and AOFAS hindfoot questionnaires pre-operatively and at a minimum of 2 years post operatively. They also recorded their level of satisfaction with the treatment at final follow up. Results. The mean AOFAS scores significantly improved from 68 pre-op to 92 post op (p = 0.0002) as did the AOS scores for both pain (28% pre-op to 8% post op (p=0.0004)) and disability (38% pre-op to 10% post op (p=0.0005). The mean SF-36 scores also improved but were not statistically significant (pre-op 76 post op 87 (P = 0.059). There were no complications. 8 of the 11 patients were satisfied, the other 3 somewhat satisfied. Conclusion. The results of Achilles tendinoscopy and division of the plantaris tendon are encouraging but further studies are required to compare it to other treatments. It is minimally invasive and low risk so should not affect the ability to perform a formal open procedure if unsuccessful

A total of 80 patients with an acute rupture of tendo Achillis were randomised to operative repair using an open technique (39 patients) or non-operative treatment in a cast (41 patients). Patients were followed up for one year. Outcome measures included clinical complications, range of movement of the ankle, the Short Musculoskeletal Function Assessment (SMFA), and muscle function dynamometry evaluating dorsiflexion and plantar flexion of the ankle. The primary outcome measure was muscle dynamometry. Re-rupture occurred in two of 37 patients (5%) in the operative group and four of 39 (10%) in the non-operative group, which was not statistically significant (p = 0.68). There was a slightly greater range of plantar flexion and dorsiflexion of the ankle in the operative group at three months which was not statistically significant, but at four and six months the range of dorsiflexion was better in the non-operative group, although this did not reach statistically significance either. After 12 weeks the peak torque difference of plantar flexion compared with the normal side was less in the operative than the non-operative group (47% vs 61%, respectively, p < 0.005). The difference declined to 26% and 30% at 26 weeks and 20% and 25% at 52 weeks, respectively. The difference in dorsiflexion peak torque from the normal side was less than 10% by 26 weeks in both groups, with no significant differences. The mean SMFA scores were significantly better in the operative group than the non-operative group at three months (15 vs 20, respectively, p < 0.03). No significant differences were observed after this, and at one year the scores were similar in both groups. Aims

The purpose of this study is to examine the adductus impact on the second metatarsal by the nonosteotomy nonarthrodesis syndesmosis procedure for the hallux valgus deformity correction, and how it would affect the mechanical function of the forefoot in walking. For correcting the metatarsus primus varus deformity of hallux valgus feet, the syndesmosis procedure binds first metatarsal to the second metatarsal with intermetatarsal cerclage sutures.

Methods

We reviewed clinical records of a single surgical practice from its entire 2014 calendar year. In total, 71 patients (121 surgical feet) qualified for the study with a mean follow-up of 20.3 months (SD 6.2). We measured their metatarsus adductus angle with the Sgarlato’s method (SMAA), and the intermetatarsal angle (IMA) and metatarsophalangeal angle (MPA) with Hardy’s mid axial method. We also assessed their American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) clinical scale score, and photographic and pedobarographic images for clinical function results.
