Aim
To help foundation doctors and medical students understand basic principles of fracture management.

Course description
Building on the undergraduate curriculum, this interactive day uses case discussions and fracture fixation practicals to establish the basics of fracture management for foundation doctors and medical students who are considering a trauma and orthopedic career.

Learning outcomes
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
•Outline the principles of fracture management
•Relate bone healing, soft tissue damage, and fracture pattern in the injured patient
•Describe the degree of fracture stability that can be achieved and its effect on fracture healing and the patient
•Consider T&O as a potential career option

Participant criteria
This seminar is aimed at foundation year 1 doctors and medical students.

Course fee - £50.00
AOUK has made a substantial grant from its education fund which permits a reduction in the course fee. This includes all course material, coffee breaks and lunch.
